"Ellie, who is texting you do much?"

Tiffany, one of my best friends, seems to be annoyed that I'm ignoring all the texts I'm getting.

"I don't know, Tiff."

"Well, check it. Because it's getting annoying," Alyssa chimes in.

"I'll check out later," I tell my friends, muting my phone."It's probably just my mom."

"Whatever," Emily says.

"Guys! Can all of just shut up? The movie's about to start," Miranda tells.

Miranda is obsessed with Disney movies. She knows every word, every dance, every song. We were currently watching her favorite, Cinderella.

It was our weekly girl's night, which we did every Friday. And we took turns picking movies. Tonight was Miranda's night, so it was Disney night.

We had popcorn, candy, chips, sodas, everything you need for a girl's night with friends.

None of us had boyfriends. The most recently single one was me. My breakup and Alyssa's were 2 weeks apart.

Alyssa's boyfriend had decided he was gay and had wanted to end things with her instead of lead her on.

Mine had cheated on me. With Alyssa's sister. She was the 7th girl in our little circle until that night. That was the night we had found out that not only had she slept with my boyfriend, but also Tiffany and Emily's boyfriends. So all of us had decided that Alyssa's sister Emma was no longer part of our group and we'd cut all of our ties with her. Alyssa, though a little hesitant since it was her sister, also cut Emma out of her life. Alyssa, like the rest of us, had felt betrayed by Emma. A few months ago, we'd decided that instead of completely cutting her out, we'd still be nice to Emma but we wouldn't be friends with her. That way, Alyssa didn't feel like she had to choose between her friends and her twin sister.

"Miranda, sit down and stop dancing!"

"But it's Disney!"

"It's not the movie. We all know you just want to find your prince charming just like Cinderella did."

"If Cinderella can find her prince, why can't I find mine?"

"Miranda, none of us have boyfriends. We're all single."

"It's not fair! Why can't the 6 of be Disney princesses?"

"Trust me, if I could be a princess, I would be. We don't get that choice. We're college students. In Nebraska."

"I know, Emily. But wouldn't it be fun to be a princess?"

"Probably. But we're not. So quit dreaming."

Emily was the more logical, practical one in our group. Her last boyfriend had told her that she was "too smart" and she was intimidating all of his friends. But we just loved her more.

I felt my phone vibrate 9 more times and decided to go check it. I made up the excuse that I needed to find medicine for my headache and went to my room in our shared apartment. It was a 6 bedroom apartment not far from campus. We all had our own room. I, of course, had the biggest room, thanks to Tiffany. She'd nominated me for it when we were deciding on who got which room when moved in.

I didn't have as many classes as they did since my major was photography, modeling and dancing. We all did singing. But the other 5 girls had actual majors.

Tiffany was majoring is marine biology.

Emily was majoring in math.

Kasey had English.

Alyssa had history.

Miranda had science.

We all had our own thing. And it kept us from getting in each other's way or turning everything into a competition. Even though Alyssa and I had been best friends since first grade, we met the other girls u years later in 8th grade and we'd been friends ever since. And we wouldn't change it.
