chapter seven

The doors of the school were burst open and in came running a large amount of police.

Sonic's ears twitched at the noise of running footsteps getting closer by each breathing second.

"What is that?" Sonic asked fearfully, he reached out bringing Shadow into a hug and the affection was enough to make a salty tear roll down his tan cheek.

"I'm sorry i have to do this, Sonic." Shadow whispered.

"Do what?"

Shadow's original intent was to bail and ditch Sonic as soon as he saw him crying over his dead teacher but now he couldn't feeling so many things for someone he once didn't care about. Now he had a better idea; if hell existed maybe he'd see him there.

After roughly pushing the younger boy the ground, Shadow takes his gun aiming it to him with tears in his eyes. Sonic heard the gun click and he knew exactly what was to come but he didn't make an effort to run. He thought maybe, he hurt Shadow as well.

And he did hurt Shadow, with love. If that was even possible.

"I'm.. So sorry." Shadow choked putting his finger on the trigger. The gun had two bullets left.

"It's okay." Sonic said putting on his best smile, the one Shadow would kill to see. "I hurt you as well didn't i?"

Shadow bit his lip, would he really do this? "You didn't hurt me.. You made me feel better." Shadow replied answering the question Sonic had asked him and himself minutes ago. "It just hurts to see you live, i don't want them to take you away from me."

No more words were said before Shadow shot the young boy in the chest, Sonic gasped grabbing his heart but he smiled with tears forming in his eyes as blood began to trickle and stain his fur. "I... I love you Shadow." And he fell to the ground.

Shadow got to his knees sobbing his eyes out and bringing Sonic's lifeless body close to a hug. He just killed the boy he loved.

Cops approached the scene with guns aimed to the crying hedgehog.

"Put your hands in the air!" One man yelled, his voice booming through the halls.

Shadow didn't do that, he put his gun to the side of his head smiling softly; the cops watching in shock.

"I have to go." Pulling the trigger, the noise of a gunshot rang in his ears and into the cop's. With his eyes rolling back, he collapsed still holding Sonic in his arms meeting the same fate as all the innocent kids he had killed on that very same day.

They weren't innocent though, they just didn't deserve death or in the eyes of Shadow, maybe they did.

But now both hedgies were dead and held eachother close. Did they deserve death? Probably not.
