That night I didn't go to dinner.

Imagine a dinner with your cold eyed father and a drama crybaby beside you!

After a while someone knocked on my room's door.

"Come on in."

"How dare you to insult our guests like this? How dare you not to appear for dinner? Who do you think you are? You are my son!" Father was furious.

His voice was so loud, he was shouting at me. His eyes were looking at me with an anger I never seen in his eyes.

Was it really that important?

"I may be your son but I am tired of this! You always force others to do what you like! You don't even care about their feelings or what they want! I won't marry that girl she's not suitable for me!"

I was shouting as well. I couldn't control myself anymore.

"You WILL marry Chloé Bourgeois or you're not my son any longer" he said in low, threatening voice.

Is that even a threat?

"I prefer not to be your son over marrying that girl!" I hollered.

Suddenly I felt a stinging pain on my cheek.

He slapped me and left my room, slamming the door shut.

I'm not a child anymore I don't need others to make decision for me! Most importantly, for my life!

The way he treats me is not acceptable anymore. I'm not that little boy anymore father!

Sometimes I just want to escape from all of this and live by myself....yea like Nino did! Like how he's free, how he can decide for himself.

Suddenly an idea crossed my mind -
I could escape!
~~~
I have to wait until midnight. Then I can escape easily.
Yea I really was going to do it!
Until then I just packed what I needed and put on a comfortable coat.
I waited until all lights were turned off, indicating that everyone was asleep.
I went to the kitchen to pack some bread as supplies. I had no idea how I was going to survive.
It was so dark, not even a candle was lit.
Everything was ready, I just needed to jump out of the window.
I was about to, as a voice stopped me right there.
"So you want to escape from this?"
I turned back and all I could see were my mother's beautiful green eyes.
"H-how did you... uh... It's just that...I can't take this anymore, father wants me to do what he wants, I can't marry that girl, I don't like her.. please mother..let me-"
"Shhhhh.." she cut me off.
She was looking at me calmly and smiled.
"I'm so happy that I have a brave son like you. I realise how you feel, don't worry. I don't know where you are going, but I will always be proud of you..."
"I love you mum..." I whispered and kissed her forehead.
She hugged me tightly.
We said goodbye, but I had no idea that this was going to be the last chance I would get to see my mother's eyes.
~~~
I needed to find a place to stay for night, and tomorrow I could get to my business. I mean, finding Nino!

The first place that crossed my mind was an inn near docks. A friend of mine worked there.

Actually the place was his father's but my friend was running it.
