"Kiddo, you stay here I'll order." But before Hyejoo could ask what she wants to eat, (y/n) pulled her down to sit and took out her own wallet. "I'll order since it's my treat, what do you want?" (y/n) asked as she set her bag down on the table. "I'll get the same one as yours." (y/n) shrugged in response and went on her way to order. As soon as the younger one was gone, Hyejoo took out her phone to call her uncle. It only took a few rings for him to pick up.
"Hyejoo? We've been waiting for you guys, where are you?"
"We're at the food place next door, Uncle. (y/n) didn't want to go there so I accompanied her here."
"I knew it, that kid is stubborn as always." Hyejoo heard the man sigh, tiredness was evident in his voice. "I should've known that she would never want to step foot in this place ever again. Anyway, take care of your little rascal hamster there. I'll see you girls at home. Also don't worry about your mom, she's too busy eating to be bothered." Mr. Cho joked before bidding goobye.
"See you, Uncle." Hyejoo smiled even though she knew the older man wouldn't be able to see it and ended the call. By the time she ended the call, (y/n) had already arrived with the tray that contained their food. (y/n) noticed how the older girl zoned off after her phone call ended, the younger one decided to just quietly set down the tray and sit across from Hyejoo. She observed her more and it seems that Hyejoo was too deep in her thoughts, (y/n) rolled her eyes and clapped her hands loudly infront of Hyejoo's face.
But she didn't quite get the reaction she wanted as the older one just widened her eyes and blinked. "psh, lame." She muttered and gave Hyejoo her food, Hyejoo thanked her silently and began eating. The peace lasted for a few minutes before a question came to (y/n)'s mind. She swallowed the food in her mouth before setting down her burger and staring at Hyejoo, the older girl stopped eating and stared right back.
"Yes, (y/n)-ssi?" Hyejoo asked, not breaking her stare. "What were you thinking about earlier?" (y/n) asked curiously, resting her chin on her palm, Hyejoo laughed and traced her finger on the rim of her drink's cup as she thought of what to tell (y/n). "I was just thinking about what you said earlier." She answered, taking a sip of her drink. (y/n) cocked her head to the side, trying to remember what she told Hyejoo. She then snapped her fingers and pointed at Hyejoo.
"Ah, when Gordon Ramsey went to that shitty Italian restaurant next door and said 'Annyeonghaseyo motherfuckers, your food is fucking appalling and I would rather eat at some high rated cheap restaurant rather than this shit you call a 5 star restaurant'? That was the most fucking tense episode of kitchen nightmares I've ever watched." (y/n) responded, taking a bite out of her food.
Hyejoo wordlessly grabbed a tissue and wiped the sides of (y/n)'s mouth like how every caring sister would do. "You know, for a cute little kid you curse too much." Hyejoo replied, diverting the topic before she could ask a sensitive question. (y/n)'s eyebrows drew together as she gave a judging stare, "you talk too much for a quiet looking person, just eat so we could leave. I still have work to do." She snapped back and continued eating. Hyejoo blinked several times before she focused on eating her unattended food.
Ah, she still doesn't like me. Hyejoo thought to herself and sighed internally.
