This is a story about a very shy dragon who lives under a big rock. There he thought that no one will ever find him. Well, he thought wrong.
One day there was a Dragon, he spends his days snoozing under his rock. At night he crawls out from his hiding space and looks for food. This dragon eats big animals that live in the forest around his rock. His only friend was his big blue-eyed rock that sees all and knows all. The rock's name is Fred. One day a family of travelers passed by and set up a camp right in front of his rock. The dragon got worried. He wondered how long they were going to stay there. Days or maybe even weeks, the dragon wouldn't be able to go out and get food. He would starve. He had 3 options, scare them away, stay under Fred and wait or make friends with them. It was very clear what he had to do. Option 2. Well he wanted to do option 2 but he knew option 3 was the best answer. It took him a while to get his courage up. Then he slowly walked out and said hi as softly and kindly as he could. "Hi." The people slowly turned around and in about 3 seconds the family were screaming and running away. "Well at least I tried," he thought. A couple days later, Fred saw a witch hunt coming to get the dragon, but when Fred told the dragon, he had a bunch of things to say, like "But I'm a dragon not a witch" and "What's a witch hunt?" Soon a bunch of people were charging towards Fred with torches and pitch forks. The dragon is hiding under the rock working up the courage once again to face that angry mob. Once he did he went out there and roared to get everyone's attention. He said "what do all of you want. I'm just a shy dragon. I didn't mean to scare those travelers, I just wanted to be left alone. So please just go away and leave me alone." And he walked back under Fred, sadly. Suddenly the little girl from the travelling group stepped out and spoke "wait!" the dragon stop and turned around and the little girl said "Mr dragon my name is Lily and I can see that you don't want to be alone, so if you don't mind I would like to come and visit you every day." The dragon smiled and everyone put their weapons down and the dragon said "I would love that." So every day for the rest of their lives Lily went to visit the dragon. And they all lived happily ever after.
