I don't think it's very good, but you might like it :/

The mysterious disappearance of Jim Starling was something nobody talked about, because no one was even aware of who he was. Anyone who knew him didn't really care either.

Well, except for a young woman by the name of (Y/N) (L/N), a journalist who was interested in writing reports on heroes and villains. With the rise of the new Darkwing Duck, and of course, Gizmoduck, she had plenty of material for new segments. But, it wasn't enough.

This new Darkwing wasn't the one she remembered from when she was growing up, Jim Starling was. So, her new story would cover him, and what had happened to him after this new hero had arrived.

The journalist spend several weeks of searching for the actor, yet found he had just disappeared. The new Darkwing avoided anything to do with him, so she was left at square one: nothing.

Well, that's what she had thought, until she noticed a pair of eyes examining the citizens passing the street. As a car passed between her and the eyes, she was met with a pitch black sewer with no eyes at all. It first it seemed like a hallucination before a sigh and some muttering came from the other side of the grate.

So, without even thinking, the girl found another way into the sewers and began searching through the filthy, murky water for whoever it was. Sure, this probably wouldn't get her anywhere, but curiosity got the better of her. All she had to do was find whoever it was, and hope they weren't going to murder her.

After several minutes of searching, the journalist was about to give up, until she heard a faint whisper. Staring straight in front of her, she met a pair of eyes unlike any she had ever seen.

The irises of the eyes had two colors, a green surrounding the pupils as a light blue paired with it. A beak came into view from the dimly lit sewer, a pair of sharp teeth allowing the creature to create a menacing smile.

Although she was afraid, Y/N stepped closer to the hidden figure and smiled as she called out to it, "It's okay..." The call seemed more like she was telling herself she would be okay, but the monster revealed itself to be Jim Starling in his Darkwing Duck costume, but the dark colors replaced with warmer ones.

"Have you come to mock me? To spread the word about how this new Darkwing Duck is so famous and popular?" He hissed, growling as he eyed the frightened girl.

It took a lot of strength for her to reply, but she shook her head and brought a smile to her face. "No, I've come to rescue you. To help. I'm not here to ridicule you, in here to show you sympathy."

The two stood there, waiting for what the other would do next. Jim inched closer, examining the girl before he calmed down, as if his anger were gone just because he looked at her.

"You are my... sympathy...?" He stated, as if asking it yet being assured it was true. She had come to redeem the actor, but she had no idea he was a monster. "I... well, yes, I am..."

There was no use fighting it, so Y/N decided to help him. To fix him. To heal him.

She was now his sympathy, and he needed her more than ever, so Jim vowed to protect his sympathy at all costs. No matter what...
