Asami's POV

After almost two and a half hours of work spent in the workshop, I dragged my feet across the hall as I walked out of the architectural building.

As I stood outside, I noticed how the sky's pinkish shade from this afternoon was being slowly replaced by an ominous cloud forming at the west. It's dark shades of grey taunting me.

I headed towards my car in the campus parking lot with speed, still remaining conscious of the weather turning for the worst. The engine roared awake and before I knew it, I was heading to the motorway to get home.

As I drove, my thoughts drifted to Korra.

I pondered about what she really felt about my father's arrangements. When I told her about it after the first two months of seeing her again, she was upset. But she remained conscious of my emotions. She never really let out what she truly felt. I knew she was angry and worried. She still is. But she hasn't actually admitted it.

After a thirty-minute drive, I greeted the doorman on the way up to my apartment. I stepped inside the elevator and waited until it arrived on the fourth floor with a ding.

After turning the key, I stepped inside my apartment, immediately noticing how gloomy and quiet it was without Korra. We've spent so much time together that it seemed unnatural to me.

With a sigh, I placed my bag on the kitchen counter, fishing my phone out of it and called Korra.

I waited patiently as the line rang. Twice. No answer. Four times. Nothing.

I frowned.

She'd usually answer straight away.

I dialled again.

Again, Nothing.

By now, I was a little worried. But I pushed my phone aside, knowing that she'd probably call again.

Almost immediately, my phone rings and I smile.

But I was surprised to see the caller ID.

It was Korra's mom.

"Ms Senna," I said awkwardly. We haven't had a proper conversation together since I left Japan and frankly, I didn't know how to talk to her.

I could tell she felt the same, as she let a moment of rustling on the other line to pass before coughing.

"Hello, Asami." She said. "Please check on Korra. I lost contact with her after I called her and I'm worried sick." She said directly.

I paused, my throat suddenly becoming dry.

"Why, what's wrong?"

"I can't explain right now and I'm not in a position to, but please, hurry."

I got on the motorway as fast as the speed limit could take me. I could practically hear my heartbeat like it was being amplified on speakers. By now the weather had worsened as heavy downpours pounded against my car, making it harder to get to Korra faster.

I called Korra 10 times and waited as the ringing tone echoed throughout my car's speakers, my palms sweaty and my body shaking with anxiety.

Still, no answer.

By now, I was petrified.

After 5 minutes, which seemed longer, I hopped out of the car and ran towards the entrance if the apartment complex, thankful for the extra keys Korra had given to me for emergencies.

I sprinted to the elevator to the second floor of the building. I used the spare key to her actual apartment, pushing the door open, to find Korra sprawled on the floor, unconscious.
