Ashley's POV :
4 hours passed by and here we are, still sitting in the same spot laughing our butts off. The whole time we talked about literally everything. Michael seems to be a very sweet, gentle and funny guy. Whenever I winced in pain he would make sure that I'm alright.
"If you are in too much pain I'll carry you to a doctor." He told me. At first I thought he was joking, but when I looked into his eyes which glowed in a caring and loving way, I knew he was serious about every single word. I could have melted right then and there, but I regained my composure pretty fast.
Other than that our conversations were quite entertaining. Due to what happened at the dance studio I thought that he would be some kind of awkward, but my opinion on him changed quick.
I still wonder one thing though and I need to know the truth.
"Why did you come to my house in the first place ?"
The delightful atmosphere immediately dies down and changes to a darker one.
"When we shook hands I saw your wrists and I instantly knew something was wrong, so I decided to come by and see if you are alright."
"You saw them ?" I can't believe he saw them. I could have sworn I hid them rather good, but I guess not.
"Of course I did. Your whole body stiffened as soon as I shook your hand, anybody would have recognized the pain you were feeling at that moment."
Wow, and my stupid self thought I acted well enough. But I definitely won't complain. Everything took a turn for the better thanks to Michael.
I probably would be laying on the bed, covered in my own blood right now if it wasn't for Michael.
"Thank you."
"For what ?"
"Everything. Thank you for noticing my wrists and immediately realizing what may have happened. Thank you for sacrificing your time just to make sure I'm ok. Thank you for coming just in time. Thank you for not believing his lies. Thank you for finding me in such a vulnerable state and not taking advantage of me. And thank you for bringing me here and keeping me company for several hours."
By now he has tears in his eyes. He quickly stands up, walks over to me and wraps his arms around me.
"You don't have to thank me for that. It was my pleasure to help you and I would do it again."
We stay in this position before he speaks up again.
"Why didn't you leave him ? You are a beautiful, kind and funny lady, I am sure you could find someone who truly deserves you."
"It's not that easy..." I don't want to explain the whole situation right now. It would take too much time anyway.
He hestitates for a few seconds before speaking up again.
"Do you still love him ?"
"Of course not. I hate this bastard with my whole heart." I exclaim almost angrily. Not because Michael asked. No, only thinking of him makes me furious all over.
"Then why won't you leave him or even better throw him out ? The house is yours, isn't it ?"
"Yes it is. But it's not that easy. I can't just throw him out. He's capable of a lot of things. This whole situation is complicated."
"Please Ashley, explain it to me. I want to help you."
"Michael, my results should be ready in a couple of minutes, it would take too much time. But if you really want to know, I can tell you after I get the results."
