Spoiled

"This place should do," said Neji as we stopped on top of a cliff that gave us a clear view of the whole area. After being on the run the whole day, night had fallen and it was time for us to rest.

Sakura had ended up carrying Shion the entire time rather than having me do it. She had set Shion down on the cold floor and she eventually went to sit on top of a nearby rock with a small pond beneath her feet.

"But we're wasting time if we decide to stop and camp! We should keep going!" Exclaimed Naruto, who was impatient to reach our destination.

"If it were us, we would be able to but we have to consider them as well. They aren't like us," I said while pointing at them with my thumb over my shoulder.

Shion who overheard us talking, yelled out behind her shoulder, "I'm fine!"

"Lady Shion your Sealing Jutsu relies on your physical stamina. You must rest tonight," softly spoke Taruho as he massaged and washed her feet with water.

Shion let out a 'hmph' and turned her head away from him and in a snobbish tone of voice she said, "I'm hungry. Prepare my meal!"

Naruto who didn't like the way she acted, grumbled under his breath, "She's acting like a spoiled brat again."

"No kidding." I shifted my attention elsewhere besides her, but the nervous tone in Taruho's voice shifted my attention back to them.

"If it's not a burden, would you be willingly to share some of the food you all prepared. I did not have time to prepare one after seeing Lady Shion had gone missing earlier."

"It's not a problem at all," chirped up Sakura as she began to dig through her pouch. This prompted everyone else to dig through their small backpack while I looked through my ninja pouch.

All I really packed was three triangular shaped onigiri and an apple. Seeing as Neji, Sakura, and Naruto had taken out an onigiri, I decided to give her the apple I had instead while Lee gave her a small bowl of soup.

We walked up to her and we each extended our arms out with the food in our hands. She carefully gazed over the food and once she touched the bowl of soup, it was clearly written on her face that she was unsatisfied with it.

"The soup is cold, I can't eat this! Or this!" She complained as she threw the soup and onigiri on the cold, hard ground.

She stepped in front of me and looked down at the apple in my hand and then at my face with a raised brow.

"Really, an apple?"

"You can't go wrong with some fruit." I held out the apple to her, but she smacked it out of my hand and turned away to sit back down on the rock.

"Fine then, starve," I spat out while turning my back to her and as I walked past my teammates they heard me mutter, "Her attitude is getting on my nerves."

"I'm going to sleep," I heard her declare as I walked to the edge of the cliff and plopped myself to the ground. I allowed my legs to dangle off the cliff and I placed both my arms behind me, allowing myself to lean back as I stared up at the night sky.

A few seconds had gone before my stomach let out a small growl. I used one hand to rummage through my ninja pouch and retrieve the three onigiris I had left. I unwrapped the sheet of nori from it and took bites of my onigiri in silence.

Not long had passed when I began to hear footsteps approaching. I turned my head to the right and saw Neji.

"Oh hey," I said before I turned back around to stare at the view that was in front of me.

"You're guarding the priestess with us with tonight."

"I figured." I munched on the last bit of my onigiri before I grabbed the last two onigiri that I had. I tossed one to Neji which he successfully caught while I kept the other one to myself. "You can have that one."

"Thanks," he quietly said before he cleared his throat which caught my attention. I turned around to face him and saw him with his hand extended out to me.

"Wow, how gentlemen like of you, Neji," I playfully said before letting out a small laugh at the end.

He crossed his arms and shook his head before he said, "Take it or leave it."

He extended his hand out once more and I smiled at the gesture as I grabbed ahold of his hand. He pulled me up on my feet and we both walked on over to where everyone was at.

Shion was already lying on the ground sound asleep with a blanket draped over her body. Sakura was seated on Shion's left while Lee was seated below her feet.

"You'll be seated on her right," Neji whispered to me and we both took our designated seat on the ground. Naruto and Taruho weren't around and figured they were guarding elsewhere.

Some time has passed as we each sat there staring off into the distance, looking for any signs of an incoming enemy. While I was scanning the area, I heard a quiet gasp come from behind me and I turned around to see Shion's eyes glowing purple before they turned back to its original color. A bead of sweat was on her forehead as she stared up at the night sky with a terrified expression on her.

"Something wrong?" I asked her and this prompted everyone else to turn around and stare at her. Without a word, she turned her body to the side with her back facing me. Everyone glanced at me, but I shrugged my shoulders, not knowing what was wrong with her.

Sakura glanced down at the priestess and shrugged her shoulders as well before she turned around. Lee and Neji silently turned around, choosing to mind their business and continue watching over their area.

I turned around choosing to ignore what just happened and continued to scan the area throughout the whole night until the sun had risen.
