*Alondra*
Running through the woods, the blonde hair of the three idiots chasing me flashed in the sunlight. Now, how did I get here? Good question.
It all started earlier that day, after breakfast. Roderich was busy with paper work and gave me the day off, so I decided to finally search my room for secret passageways. Tapping quietly on the walls, so as not to disturb him downstairs, I did not find anything.
Then, I began checking behind the dresser and other bits of furniture. Still nothing.
Under the rug: Zip.
In the closet: Nada, zero, zilch.
Finally, just as I was about to give up, I checked under the bed.
"And... there's a trapdoor under my bed," I said, feeling a bit creeped out. "Well, that explains the weird noises under there." Laughing nervously, I felt around in the darkness, I found an old iron handle and pulled. It opened with a loud 'Creeeaaak!' and frigidly cold air rushed out of it. "I wonder where this goes..." I thought aloud, finger on my chin. "But, the real question is," I turned to Ferox, who slept soundly on the windowsill. "Would I have enough time to see where it goes?" Thinking quickly, I wrote a note- on an obnoxiously bright pink sticky note- for Roderich and stuck it, ironically, to my pillow, but I really didn't have anywhere else to put it:
"If I'm not back by lunch time, I'm in the not so secret tunnel under the bed. Sorry I didn't ask you about it or if I could go down in, but you were busy and curiosity got the best of me." Grabbing my emergency satchel and a torch (flashlight, yes, I'm American but I like that term better) and lowered myself down the trap door. "Rope, first aid kit, beef jerkey, book, journal, compass, sample jars, world atlas... Yup, all here," I checked the contents of the bag with a satisfactory nod.
"Downwards, to the center of the earth!" My voice echoed slightly, causing me to wince. "God, I hope Mr. Edelstein didn't hear that." Well, aparently Ferox did, because he jumped down the hole a few seconds later, looking at me annoyed. "Sorry, I didn't want to-"
"Save it, Alondra, I'm coming now!" There it was again, Ferox's voice, echoing within my head, with his humorous New York accent.
"Okay, okay," I opened a separate compartment in the satchel and he hopped in, shifting around until he was comfortable and then falling asleep again. Chuckling, I closed the satchel, his ears peeping out a bit, and turned on the torch. The beam shone down a long stone tunnel, going in only one direction, with water dripping down from the ceiling and various specimines of spiders crawling around. Taking a deep breath, and making sure I had extra batteries, I shouldered my satchel and began walking down the tunnel.
I walked for the longest time, collecting specimines along the way that I found interesting. Finally the tunnel ended, and there was another trap door leading to the surface. It took some effort, but I opened it, roots and grass and dirt lifting up with it. Obviously, it hadn't been used in a while. All around me were the tall trees of a virgin forest, not a marred stump in sight. As pretty as it was, it was getting a bit dark, and I was wondering if I should go back, when I saw an old shack in the distance. Curious, I wandered over to it, crouching slightly and peeping in the window... like some sort of wierdo. Then again, there were lots of big windows and all...
Anyways, inside there was a large table, and three men were sitting around it. One wore a flashy blue outfit, with longish blonde hair and sea blue eyes. Another wore a leather bomber jacket, had rugged blonde hair with a bit of a cow-lick, and crystal blue eyes. Finally, the last one had feathery blonde hair, bright green eyes, and wore a green jacket.
