INCALESCENCE; CHAPTER ONE
NICO MORGENSTERN SEEMED to be perpetually confused at this point in his life. You know, since he was literally having a mid life crisis at twenty two years old. But nobody seemed to understand this fact since he in a state of perpetual confusion and he couldn't seem to convey what he was really feeling to anyone.
But now, he had the chance to talk to someone who might be able to give him some hope or some advice of any kind, or at least that's what he hoped. Nico assumed so, since the man in black named himself as God, and God was someone Nico could talk to, right?
Although on that matter alone, he couldn't be very sure since he had once trusted Lucifer, was once his friend, but he still trusted his judgement in some matters – and since Lucifer seemed to have only been glaring at his godly father, maybe Nico shouldn't trust God.
"Nicholas Morgenstern, the so-proclaimed boy king. I've heard many tales of your valour in battling any foes that cross your path." God spoke to the young man in front of Him, who just stared in confusion at him.
"I'm sorry but did you just say the boy king? Who proclaimed me as the boy king of all names?" Nico asked, seeming to ignore the compliments given to him and only focussed on a slightly degrading nickname given to him.
"Lesser demons proclaimed you as such when you banished Valak from the mortal world and saved your shadowhunter friends from him," Lilith explained as she stepped a tad bit closer to Lucifer, who was still staying firmly next to Nico across from God Himself.
"Personally, I find it fitting as yourself and your friend, Ava, was it?" Nico nodded. "The two of you managed to create the antichrist – a baby who is both angel and demon, without the human side that both of yourselves possess. What was the name the two of you decided upon?"
"Henry." God quirked an eyebrow, wanting the entire name. "Henry Jonathan Cartwright."
Jonathan smiled at his brother, who gave him a small smile back. But the other three seemed to notice one thing that bothered them. "Cartwright? But he should be named after his father – he's a Morgenstern. It's rather fitting for the antichrist after all." Lucifer spoke, as Lilith nodded, clearly sharing his sentiment.
"I don't want my son to be involved with all this shit that I've had to go through because of the fucking name that has only ever brought me trouble. I don't want to be like this. I don't want my son to live like this." Nico blew up on the two demonic beings (or rather one and a half), as anger flooded his veins as the familiar burning warmth set alight in his bloodstream, somehow calming him from his rage.
God only found this display amusing, as He began a slow clap that only seemed to frustrate Nico more than before. "And now I'm seeing the true Boy King in action. What a delight."
