Monday came by quickly but I didn't mind. school, as slow as it sometimes passes by, was never a bother to me. I walked into 3rd period, where I immediately saw Matthew waving me to come sit by him. I accepted and made my way over to the back. before I sat down, I was pushed to the ground by a snobby girl who was trying to flirt with Matt. I scoffed and Matt quickly grabbed my hand a helped me up. I sat down, not bothering to waste my time on this desperate thing. "hey Matt..." she said, boobs practically hanging out. I mentally rolled my eyes before zoning out.
I thought back to when a girl was trying to hit on Jay. it was just an average day, so we decided to go hiking. as I stepped onto the last rock before crossing a small river, a girl pushed past me, almost knocking me over. she just giggled and said, "wow that was so easy. don't you think?" I looked up to see her talking to Jay. this didn't bother me, rather entertained me. I'm not crazy, I swear. I stood up and watched him do his thing, "you're right, it was easy. maybe too easy," he said. she just nodded, trying not to breathe heavily. he looked over to a tall rock and asked her if she's done that one before. of course, she said she could and before we knew it, was trying to climb it. I laughed as she put her left foot over her head and tried to lift. "sorry honey, you're not that hot as you think you are. oh and this cutie? he's taken," I pulled Jay's hand and we walked away, leaving her with an embarrassed look.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when Matthew was calling my name, "Bailey. hello?" "oh sorry, I was just thinking. where'd miss desperate go?" I asked. "oh, her. she asked me out, but I said no." I raised my eyebrows, "really? why?" "I told her that I wasn't interested. she, clearly embarrassed, walked away," this made me laugh. "what's so funny?" he asked. "oh nothing," I replied before the teacher walked in.
lunch came around after fourth, and I sat down with Riley and Morgan. "sooo, tell us about your date!" Morgan said, excitingly. I laughed and told them all about it. the entire time I was talking, they paid no attention to their food, only listened. after I finished, Riley quickly asked, "so are you guys dating yet?" I laughed. "not yet," Matt said, sitting down next to me. they giggled while I rolled my eyes, "not ever." i said, punching his arm. it was a little weird, but he and I were getting to become good friends. this didn't mean I liked him, because I don't. we just seemed to get along really well on Saturday, and whenever we talked in class, so I was becoming less distant. then, Jeremiah and Max came over and sat down. "hey guys," Matt said. they were all talking about the football game on Friday, "homecoming game. are you girls coming?" Max asked. of course Riley and Morgan said yes. "what about you Bailey?" Matt asked, excluding us from their conversation. "uh I don't see why not," I said, making him smile. "good, because I can't wait for you to see me make a touchdown," he said. I laughed, "I can't wait either."
as I was walking to my locker, a group of girls approached. 'great, just what I needed to end a good day' I thought. "what do you think you're doing?" one of them asked. "isn't it pretty obvious, I'm getting books from my locker," I said. "that's not what she meant," another hissed. "why are you going out with Matt?" the "leader" said. I laughed, "we're not going out. we just hung out on Saturday," I said. they were pissed and just stood there until one spoke up, "well that's not what we heard." "what did you hear?" I asked. "everyone's talking about how you two are dating," a ginger said. I rolled my eyes. "that's what Matt's been talking about ALL day!" one said, rolling her eyes at the word all. I just walked away after saying, "well, nothing's going on right now."
as soon as I got home, I pulled out my phone and texted Matt.
💚-hey
🏈-hey, what's up?
💚-well, I was talking to some girls and they said that we were dating.
🏈-oh
💚-but I told them that we weren't and I asked why they thought so. they said you were talking about it all day today
