IM SORRY IM SHIT AT UPDATING

mikey's pov

i could tell that my nervousness was showing. i could only take shaky breaths, and my legs were basically jell-o. nervousness was a foreign feelings to me. normally, i know that I'm bascically guaranteed to play the main character. but now that lucas has shown up, i can't help but feel nauseous.

"hello, michael." greets mrs. korina, the drama teacher. i can only muster up a nod and a week smile in reply. "please read a paragraph of your choice from the play romeo and juliet.

i had this paragraph memorized inside and out. right before i started my lines, he showed up.

it was like time stopped purely so we could acknowledge the existence of lucas robert hemmings.

he was looking godly as always. perfect hair, designer clothing, and teeth whiter than I am.

not to mention, his ass was looking fine in those skinny jeans.

hey michael, you're gay is showing.

it was then i realized that everyone had turned their attention back to me and was waiting for me to start. after a couple seconds of stuttering, i was able to adjust into my element, my home, my life; the theater life.

"rebellious subjects, enemies to peace,

profaners of this neighbour-stained steel,--

will they not hear? what, ho! you men, you beasts,

that quench the fire of your pernicious rage

with purple fountains issuing from your veins,

on pain of torture, from those bloody hands

throw your mistemper'd weapons to the ground,

and hear the sentence of your moved prince.

three civil brawls, bred of an airy word,

by thee, old capulet, and montague,

have thrice disturb'd the quiet of our streets,

and made verona's ancient citizens

cast by their grave beseeming ornaments,

to wield old partisans, in hands as old,

canker'd with peace, to part your canker'd hate:

if ever you disturb our streets again,

your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace.

for this time, all the rest depart away:

you capulet; shall go along with me:

and, montague, come you this afternoon,

to know our further pleasure in this case,

to old free-town, our common judgment-place.

once more, on pain of death, all men depart"

(a/n: god bless wikipedia)

after not acting for a couple of months, it felt to be one stage again. it just felt right. on stage, i felt accepted, i felt wanted. it was the place where people were admiring me. rather than blending in with the walls, i was able to stand out in a way that didn't seem strange or weird to others.

as i concluded my scene, i could see the awe in other people's eyes. ash was the first one to start clapping, soon followed by everyone else. i couldn't help but smirk, knowing how fucking amazing i just did.

all that confidence soon came crashing down as soon as mrs. korina started talking again.

"very good michael! next up will be luke hemmigs."
