"Now seating Sections 1-3," the tired flight announcer said over the intercom.
I stood up, strapping my heavy backpack over my shoulders and grabbing my carry-on suitcase. I started walking toward the entrance of the plane, passport and ticket in hand.
"May I see your passport please?" the woman asked politely, but drowsily. I noticed her eyes were slightly bloodshot and her makeup was slightly smudged.
"Of course," I said as put my ticket inside of the passport and handed it to her. "Sorry if I'm intruding, but is everything okay?"
She sighed, scanning my ticket and handing everything back to me. "No, but life goes on. Everything will end up the way that it wants to. Have a nice flight, ma'am."
"Thank you," I said walking away, down the small tunnel that led to the plane. I walked down to my seat, put my suitcase in the stowaway, and sat down. Yes, I'm by the window. Now I don't have to awkwardly smile at people walking by. I pulled out my phone, seeing Shayne had texted me.

Big Bro: I literally can't wait for you to get over here. Are you on your plane yet?
Yeah, I just got on. For some reason they're blasting Metallica into the speakers and screaming, "ARE YOU READY TO FUCKING FLY??"
Big Bro: Oh that's just typical Californians for you. You'll see when you get here.
Oh shit, I change my mind I wanna stay here with the normal people. XD
Big Bro: Oh no, don't be scared!! They can sense your fear!!
I'm so screwed...
Big Bro: You'll be fineeee. You're a tough cookie n/n. (nickname)
Oh fuck you, you know I hate that. Anyways you're coming to pick me up, right?
Big Bro: Yeah, just shoot me a text when you land so I can mentally prepare...I can't believe my lil sis is finally moving here!!!
Well you better believe it. You're about to lose all privileges of living alone...no more pooping with the door wide open!!!
Big Bro: I'm willing to lose all those privileges just for you y/n =)
Oh stop it, you're making me blush!! 🙄
Big Bro: Alright, alright. You better let me drive. You don't want your roomie to get in a car crash before you move in do you. It would look pretty bad in court...
Stop giving me ideasss....also why are you leaving now? My plane doesn't land for a few hours?
Big Bro: LA traffic 🙄
Ahhh okay...well see you then! Love you!
Big Bro: Love you too, y/n. See you soon!
"Please get ready for take off," the pilot said into the speakers as we started moving along the runway. Before I knew it, we were off. I took a boomerang, and posted it with the caption "California, you better get ready for y/n Topp!".
After I finished with that, I put the wireless earbuds that Shayne got me for Christmas in my ears and put on my favorite band. I started thinking about what I was going to do when I got to LA. I didn't have a job waiting for me there and my job here payed minimum wage. I barely had the funds to rent a car for month, let alone pay rent. I would be in debt from my own brother, how sad is that?
Then suddenly I started to think of what that woman said to me earlier. "Everything will end up the way that it wants to." This immediately soothed me. With a degree in Computer programming, I could easily get a job in LA. And Shayne would obviously lend me some money until I get on my feet, and I would pay him back eventually. Also, carpooling isn't that bad. Hell, it'll even save the earth a little!
California, here I come.
