“Were about half an hour away from landing in Peru you guys. I hope you’re ready to meet your mum Jack.” announced Brandon over the P.A. And boy was I ready. I hadn’t seen my mum In 3 years. I wonder if she actually cut her hair short like she said she would. There were so many questions I would ask her. I was thinking about all the things we could talk about when a siren came over the P.A. “alert, engine one disabled. Wooooooop. Wooooooop.” I was instantly struck with fear as I turned and looked at Peter. He looked terrified. “Who are you going to see!?” I yell. “I’m coming home from an exchange student program!” he yells back in a little French accent. “Oh.” That was all I could say…I might not even make it to Peru. “Don’t worry guys, it’s going to be fine!” says Brandan into the P.A. I’m starting to have my doubts about Brandan saying we’ll be fine. “Alert, Engine two disabled. Wooooooop. Wooooooop. The plane slowly spirals down to the ground. Brandon’s seatbelt unbuckles and is launched out of his seat and flies to the back of the small plane. He hits his head and remains stuck at the rear of the plane unconscious. “Peter we need to get a parachute or something!” “There, at the back, remember?!” He screams. I unbuckle my seat belt and lunge backward a seat. “Hurry!” Peter yells. “I am!” I say. I look at Brandon. This motivates me to jump backward another two seats. “Here, the Parachutes!” I throw down a parachute to Peter and give one to Brandon. “There’s no time” Peter yells. He braces for impact as I scramble to my seat. “Sorry Brandon” I whisper. The plane glides down into a deep valley. Its lands flat-down cutting through the grass. Brandon shot off the wall and was hurled into the cockpit. Peter and I hit the chairs in front of us and bounced back. “Aaahhh my nose!” Peter yelled. His nose was bleeding. The plane smashed into a large boulder sending me into the chair in front once more, causing me to black out.

It was dark…cold…and there were ants all over me.
The left wall of the plane was gone, and I was lying in the wreckage. I eventually sat up after getting tired of the taste of my own breath. I brushed myself off and tried to push myself up, but instantly fell with terrible pain. I landed on my side and cried for a moment. I sat up once more and felt my left wrist. “Ouch!” I yelp. My voice cuts through the eerie silence in the field. I manage to stand up without using my hand, and begin inspecting the plane. Brandon is still in the cockpit. I don’t know if he’s alive or not. “Peter! … Hey Peter! … Peter where the hell are you!” I say in a voice that sounds like my mum. I can’t see very much because the sky is so black. There’s almost no stars and the moon is hiding behind massive jungle trees. I realize that I must be on the edge of Peru. “I might be able to make it to the city!” I say, rather loudly.
