"Wait, how do you know all of this?" I asked him, taking in everything he just said.

He let out a small laugh, "Because your mother was my sister in law. Plus, I'm on the royal court." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "I know it's a lot to take in."

"A lot? My entire life is a lie." I scoffed. "Everyone, they all lied to me."

"It's the royal family, they can't be trusted. Even myself. I don't know what I'd do, given the opportunity." He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "But seriously, Evangeline. Jamison needs to come back to the castle, everyone does. Derrik, Angelica, even Claire."

"How? You can't bring back a dead person." I said.

"You really think that Claire Esperanza could be killed that easily? You think anyone who dies in this kingdom stays dead?" Alexander asked. "You're sure you're the kings Mate?"

         "His what?"

"My god, do they teach you anything in this castle?" Alexander sighed. "King James And Queen Angelica did not meet coincidentally and fall in love, they were put together by a sorceress and her magic made them fall in love. They were meant to rule this kingdom, they were chosen. But they're dying. It's been almost a thousand years, it's time for a new King and Queen."

"Huh?"

"They're overdue! It's time for you and your future husband to step up and get married, have kids, and rule the kingdom like you were chosen to do." Alexander explained again. I went to argue but he stopped me.

"Now, I know how you women are, you don't want to be controlled and you sure as hell don't need a man for shit but this isn't about you, love. It's about the future of the kingdom. The one your mother was going to rule if she didn't get taken away." He said.

"But, I've barely been around Derrik! I don't even—"

"Which is why Angelica wanted you to fall for Jamison. She didn't trust him. But she's sound asleep with her rotting husband as of right now. Which is a problem, she's a bitch but she's kept the Kingdom in check. And now with all of this construction and moving the kingdom above ground, we need Angelica back." Alexander continued.

"Anyways, Jamison and the others know that you're Derrik's mate which is why Jamison hasn't made you some kind of sex slave, he had respect for his brother I guess." Alex shrugged. "It's about time for me to go, Evangeline. Keep moving forward with this plan you and Rosie have for the Kingdom. I'm excited to see the outcome. I have some traveling to do and I won't be back for a while. You have my number, though, if you need anything just give me a call." He said before disappearing.

I was left sitting in the library by myself, my brain rattled and confused with all of the information I just received. I'm a werewolf, witch, and a vampire, I'm supposed to marry Derrik and become the Queen, and Claire isn't really dead. And what did he mean by people who die in this kingdom not staying dead? Does that mean there's a chance that Selena's alive?

"Eve?" Rosita knocked on my bedroom door before stepping inside.

"What's up?" I said, sitting up in my bed.

"I have someone I have to go meet. A friend, she has something for me and I was wondering if you'd come with me? Jamison usually goes with me but he's gone so.." she trailed off.

"Yeah, sure. Ill go." I shrugged.

~
"Okay, fair warning, she's not very trusting of strangers." Rosita said. We were waiting at a local diner for her friend. A girl walked in the diner and looked around until she saw me and Rosita's table and walked over to it. "Naomi!" Rosita exclaimed, getting up from her seat to greet the girl.

The two of them hugged and Rosita sat back down, and Naomi took a seat next to her. Naomi was a beautiful, brown-skinned girl with long braids and bright skin. "This is—"

"I know who she is. Evangeline Hastings. The very first Hybrid." Naomi cut Rosita off. "I'm Naomi Cicil." She held her hand out for me to shake. I shook her hand and sent her a small pursed smile. "I worked with your mother before she was taken away."

"You knew my mother?" I asked, smiling. She nodded.

"Really, I should've been imprisoned too for keeping her secret but I guess the royal family is as merciful as they come." She said sarcastically. "Anyways, what'd you want to talk about?" She asked Rosita.

"We're restarting. The Kingdom, We're moving it above ground and rebuilding all that needs rebuilding." Rosita said to her. "And I was wondering if you'd help."

"Relocating, Huh? I could use a change of scenery." Naomi said. "What's in it for me?" She asked Rosita.

"A spot on the royal court, gold, a castle, you name it." Rosita shrugged.

"Something that hasn't been offered before, Rosie. Be original here. What's something so special that even I can't get my hands on it?" Naomi asked.

Rosita thought for a second but then she seemed to have thought of something. "I'll give you Jamison." She said.

"Now you're speaking my language." Naomi smirked. I furrowed my eyebrows at Rosita. What did she mean? "Mama always did want me to marry a black man but no man is as black as your brothers soul, Rosita Esperanza, and that is just how I like my men."

"I don't think any man is as twisted as you are, Naomi." Rosita chuckled. "We start in a year. Jamison will be all yours by then."

"Done deal." Naomi said before standing up from the table. "It was nice meeting you Evangeline. And you best keep your word, Rosie. Until next time." She said before leaving the diner.

"Rosita what were you two talking about? Giving her Jamison, what's that supposed to mean?" I asked her.

"She And Jamison are Mates but my mother had done everything in her power to keep them separate. They were in love for years and planned on getting married until my mother made him fall for you." Rosita explained.

"So why doesn't she hate me?" I asked.

"She's not the type of person to hate someone for another persons actions. You personally did nothing wrong to her. Plus she was close friends with your mother." Rosita said.

"You're not actually going to just give Jamison to her, are you?" I asked her.

"Naomi Cicil is known for being one of the most dangerous witches to ever live in the Kingdom. She practices dark magic. Every deal we've had has gone smoothly. She's a good friend of mine and she's easy to negotiate with. But even I know that you don't break a promise with the Voodoo Queen."
