"im sitting here crying in my prom dress"

They say prom is to be the time of your life. But not for me.

Here I am all dolled up in a baby blue fitted gown, with a full face of makeup, and white heels. You could say I looked like Cinderella.

I came to prom to be with my best friend, Lee Taeyong, but he left me for someone else and so I've been crying for the past thirty minutes

"Hey, what are you doing all by yourself? It's prom! Go have some fun!" My chemistry teacher told me. I gave him a fake smile while wiping my tears away.

You see, I'm not the typical person to go to parties or dances, I'd rather sit at home reading a book.

"Hey. You're Y/N right? Taeyong's best friend." I heard someone say. I turn around and see Jung Jaehyun, who I actually crushed on in sophomore year.

"Yeah I'm Y/N! And you must be Jaehyun! Why are you alone?"

"Well you see. Um- Taeyong took my 'date' so here I am being a loner at prom with a girl I should've asked out instead."

I looked at him in total shock.

"Makeup is running down, feelings are all"

"What the heck did you just say?" I said standing up from my chair to face the sad lonely boy who just got left for by MY BEST FRIEND.

"Look Y/N. I didn't know that you liked me two years ago and I found out from your brother, Johnny. He told me everything about you and I instantly fell in love with you, ha I've always been in love with you. I always fought the feeling of love because I was scared. I was so blinded by my ex girlfriend when I was at your home, but now all I think is you. I'm sorry I'm being so cheesy but I'd love to make this a moment that will last for a life time, as your boyfriend if you'd let me into your heart." Jaehyun said casually wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer while also wiping off my mascara stains with his thumb.

"That bastard  brother of mine should not be telling his best friend that I like them. But yes Jaehyun. I'd love to let you into my life as my boyfriend."

Jaehyun further more pulled me closer closing the small gap between the two of us.

"Attention everyone! We are now to announce the prom Queen and King!" the announcer said.

I looked at Jaehyun whole heartedly and took his hand to where everyone was standing.

"Our prom queen was voted on her reasonable standards in school but also exceeding her academics. Drumroll please!!!! Congratulations to
Y/N Seo!!!!"

I was shocked. Jaehyun pushed me forward to receive my crown.

"And our prom king was voted for his excellence in academics and sports. Drumroll please!! Congratulations to Jung Jaehyun!"

Jaehyun soon came up taking is crown and myself in his embrace.

"Seems like we were meant to be." Jaehyun said on stage holding me tight.

"I guess so lover boy." I said closing the gap between the two of us again.

"Well congratulations! Now for the King and Queen dance!!"

We 'danced the night away' if you would!

Cheers to somewhat of a happy ending with my new boyfriend.
