I watched as she walked into the room. Her vibrant red hair bounced along behind her as she skipped happily into the classroom. A wide smile on her face. My heart pounded as she took her seat in the front of the room, the desk right in front of me.
As she looked up to the front, my smile turned into an evil grin. Opening up my bag, I grabbed a magazine clipping I had cut out the night before. I took out my tape and put a few pieces on it. Then, I tapped her on the back, taping it on. She turned around and looked at me.
"Do you have a pencil I could borrow?" As I spoke, I couldn't help but gaze into her beautiful eyes. The way they lit up when she was excited, how they shone into my soul. She nodded and turned away slowly, clearly skeptical, yet pulling me from my trance. When she turned back around, she handed me a pencil. "Thanks."
"Make sure I get it back. I don't want to lose another one," she said, before turning back around. I looked at the clipping on her back. Though I tried not to, I let out a laugh. She quickly turned and looked at me as I tried to stop laughing.
"I don't like it when you laugh like that. It means you've done something horrible." I simply smirked at her as she turned around to face Mrs. Pennyworth, who had begun teaching the class.
I didn't pay attention to the paper on her back, and instead focused on the lesson the teacher was giving. With my notebook opened, I jotted down notes on what was being taught. Anything I heard that was worth remembering got put in the notebook.
Class passed and finally the bell rang, saving us from dying of stiffness at our desks. Lectures. Why must we be sitting down for them? I noticed a couple of people snickering as they passed Erin, and I couldn't keep down a smirk. As she picked up her bag, she looked over at me with questioning eyes.
"What did you do?"
"Nothing," I answered, though my face showed otherwise.
"You did something, what did you do?" I picked up my bag and let out a laugh. "What did you do? Just tell me. MK will tell me in my next class anyways."
"I know she will." With that, I walked out of the classroom. As the door closed behind me, the sound of my thumping heart became noticeable. I let out a sigh as I began to walk to my next class. The whole way there, Erin's face was engraved in my mind like it was a head on a penny.
I arrived at next class and it was the same as the last. Sitting through a boring lecture for a half an hour taking notes. Where were all the fun classes in this school? Next period, that's where.
When it was time to leave this class, I nearly sprinted out of the classroom. I was filled with joy as I made my way through the maze of people crowded in the hallway. Eventually, the door came into sight as I grabbed the handle and pulled it open, quickly getting to my seat.
I took in a deep breath with a smile. Ah, computer class. The best class of the day. I turned to face my computer when I felt a tap on my shoulder. Looking behind me, Erin stood angrily,
"Hi," I greeted ignorantly.
"What in the world is wrong with you? I walked across half the school with this taped to my back!" I held back a laugh as she tried to sound intimidating. It just wasn't in her nature. She was too gentle and sweet. "You are so immature."
"Yeah, I know." She tossed the paper in front of me before sitting at a computer on the other side of the room. I looked at what I had taped on her back. A Hostess HoHo label. I sighed with a smile and threw it in the trash. I then began working on the coding project.
