I heard the loud crunches of the dead leaves beneath my feet. It didn't matter if someone heard me. I just needed to be quick. I heard yelling and sirens behind me. I quickened my pace when I saw lights fly around the trees. I couldn't afford them catching me.

I bumped into many trees and slipped on dozens of rocks and logs. I stopped when I hit the road. The police and ambulances would be passing through here many times. I was still too close to them, so I turned around and ran back. When I saw the fire again, I turned left and ran deeper into the forest. I was running so fast that I didn't see the huge rock in front of me. I tripped over it and crashed into the floor. A sharp stick stabbed into my arm. I screamed in pain, but I quickly slapped my hand on my mouth. I sat up and fell silent. I heard a police over yell, "I heard it over here! Let's go!" I then heard a bunch of leaves crunching toward me.

I quickly got up and starting running away from them. I kept the stick inside my arm to avoid extensive bleeding. I started running quicker than usual. I eventually realized I couldn't outrun them. They were heavily trained police men, and I was just a teenage girl. I looked around frantically, trying to find somewhere to hide. I could barely see anything. I looked back to see how close they were. They were a couple of yards away from me. I panicked and began to run more frantically. I was covered in scratched and splinters.

I wasn't paying attention, so I fell down a ditch. I slid down to the floor and continued to run. "I heard a noise here!" A man said. I was beginning to lose my breath. My legs were aching, and my arm was bleeding from the stick. I saw a tree in front of me with a bunch of branches. I sighed in relief and sprinted to it. I began climbing the tree. My hands were being stabbed by the splinters. I fell off a small branch, but my foot caught another one. I didn't stop climbing until I was surrounding by leaves. I looked down and watched as a dozen men gathered under me. They looked around silently.

"I don't hear them running anymore. They must be hiding around here," I gasped and covered my mouth. They didn't hear me. I waited on that tree for half an hour. I was looking around when I saw a huge deer. I suddenly had an idea. I quietly snapped off a branch and threw it at the deer. It began running off in the opposite direction.

"I hear them! Over there!" A man said, and everyone started running in the direction of the deer. I quickly climbed down and began running toward the town.

"Fuck! It was a fucking deer!" I heard one yell. I giggled and ran away. I had successfully escaped.

After I stopped hearing the sirens and police, I started walking. I was getting extremely tired, and the sun was coming up. The town was not too far from here. I was about to give up, and stop for a while, but I heard woman laughing. I sprinted toward the noise and stopped in front of a nice little house.

Now I knew the town wasn't far. I had always seen this house before going to the town. I always thought that it had an ugly green color, but, up close, it was a cute teal. Three middle aged women were sat on the porch drinking coffee. The turned to look at me.

"Oh my! You're bleeding, hija!" A woman with short black hair, round glasses, and light brown skin exclaimed. She stood up and ran over to me. She grabbed my right arm and looked at the stick. I hissed in pain and yanked my arm back. The other woman with light skin and her hair in a bun walked over. "You can't touch her arm so roughly!" She scolded and smiled at me. "Come inside, dear. We'll help your arm," she lead me inside the house with the two woman trailing behind.

The third woman had also had light brown skin, but she has green hair that was curly. She wasn't saying anything, but she looked scared. Glasses lightly grabbed the stick, "Don't move, hija. Get a towel!" She yelled at Bun. Bun ran over with a towel. Glasses grabbed the stick firmly.
