SUMMER ROMANCE

FIRST CHAPTER

Isang An Investigative journalist for the Bacolod news bureu of the countries leading newspaper.

Nagmamadali na siya dahil 7:45 na ng gabe at 8:00 pm ang deadline niya para sa cover.

Lis is always in a hurry.

from the time she wakes up to the she sleeps.

But hindi na natutulog si Liz.

Through her office works & household chores like na parang isang a worker ant na humahanap ng pagkain para mapakain ang kanyang pamilya.

Right after nang college graduation niya five years ago , na hired siya sa newspaper employee at wala siyang time for a break ever since.

Nung last Monday, pumunta siya sa doctor niya , her cardiologist.

"Liz, you need a break. or else you'll work yourself to death!" Seryosong sabi ng doctor niya.

"I feel fine, Dr. Romeo. This Latest story cover ko po ay matatapos na . Its just took a little more of my time than usual . at tsaka po doc this summer heat has been stifling. at kapag na tapos ko po ang cover doc, my blood pressure will go back to normal. makikita mo doc!"

"You work ten hours a day at office and then another ten hours at home. kung kumuha kana lang kaya ng housekeeper para makapagpahinga kana man galing sa trabaho mo."

"Doctora, ako po ang panganay sa aming limang magkakapatid at ako ang breadwinner ng pamilya ng mamatay si papa six years ago. at si mama po hindi na makapagtrabaho dahil sa katandaan niya. and my meager salary is just enough to put food on the table and send my sibling to school. I can hardly afford to pay your consultation fee, how much more a housekeeper salary?"

"Liz, you're a prime candidate for a heart attack and your still four years away from your 30th birthday! Hindi na yan normal Liz, and if your body and mind collapse from exhaustion? Sino nalang ang titingin sa pamilya mo?"

"Okay, alam ko po ang punto niyo pero tataposin ko po muna ang cover sa newdpaper by friday at tatawagin ko ang editor namin para maka leave ako for two days."

"Thats means you'll be back to work on monday. You need a vacation Liz, no just a breather. Your heart can't fix itself, it needs your cooperation."

"Okay fine! I'll ask for a one week vacation and go some place .... like Boracay. yun pwede na. So okay kana ba dun doc?"

"I'll write out a prescription for your hypertension at wag mung kakalimutan ang mga gamot mo. at tawagin mo ako when you get back. Who knows , maybe you'll find the man of your dreams there!"

"I don't think so a man is the cure to any heart ailment, doctora.."
