THIRD CHAPTER
On their last night together , they had a dinner at the resort's classy restaurant. The day after, both will be returning to Bacolod - to their hectic lives in the real world.
"You never told me what brought you here , Jonathan."
"Ahh.. Namatay ang Dad nung last week."
"How?"
"Lung cancer , years of chain smoking."
"I'm sorry."
"Hai hindi mo naman kasalanan Liz. Siguro time na ni Dad to rest."
"Alam ko ang pakiramdam ng mawalan ng magulang."
"One of your parents died too?"
"A freak accident at the factory killed my father six years ago. His shirt tail got caught in a spinning turbine.. the machine pulled his shirt up around his neck and strangled him to death. At si mama naghihirap din sa sakit na breast cancer for the past three years."
"Grabi naman ang pinagdaan mo. Don't you ever think that God if he does exist , has been dreadfully unfair to you?"
"You seem unaffected by your own father's death?"
"Hindi kami naging ng Daddy ko. Pinabayaan niya kami at pinagpalit sa ibang babae ng eight years old pa ako."
"Ha? mas malala pa ang pinagdaan mo."
"Let's help each other forget all the pain, Liz."
After ng long pause, ni ask ni jonathan si Liz.
"Will you let me love you tonight?"
In the answer , she stood up and held out her hand to him. Together holding each others hand . They walked toward his cottage.
