Manny:
Squeezing my phone against my chest, I sighed heavily. The littlest things really do feel like the end of the world sometimes. Whether it's a heartbreak from love, losing a pet, or even dropping your ice cream.

I closed my eyes and said a prayer in my mind. I need all of the strength I can get. I looked out of the bus window, the sky dark. The stars doing what they do best, lighting up the darkness. Fighting to be seen.

My phone began to ring, I quickly looked at it, I was getting a FaceTime call from my uncle. I didn't hesitate a single second to answer it.

The screen lit up. My uncle's face appearing on it. The familiar white walls that I grew to hate surrounded him.

"Hey, Unc. Any news?" I asked, though I will admit, I've always been afraid to ask.

"Uh.. I-I.. I do have news for you" His eyes teary-eyed. Red, like fresh blood.

"What is it? Don't worry, I'm on the way! I'll be there soon, hopefully. I mean the bus is slower because of all of the stops, but I'll still be there. I'll make it, I know I will" I managed to get out, my body couldn't stop trembling. My heart pounding in my chest, my throat dry as a desert.

"I'm afraid soon isn't soon enough" I looked at my phone, confused. The pain in my heart making my brain too cloudy to think straight.

"What do you mean by that?"

"I'm afraid she's already gone.." After that sentence he bursted into tears. I hung up the phone, lost for words. I sat back in the bus seat and began to silently sob. This really is the end of the world for me.
