After the incident where Wad was beat up, he and Prem were in... weird relations. It was only few days and they saw each other maybe like two times, including one in the pharmacy, but they definitely were in better terms now. And that was quite surprising, considering how Wad, that was rebelling before, was now much more timid and just quiet over all.

It was a calm day and Wad just finished his classes for today, so he was heading back to dorms to rest. His head was pounding hard and he couldn’t focus on lessons for at least past hour. He cursed himself for not taking any painkillers with him today and just wished to be in his room as fast as possible.
But his body was not cooperating at all, because he soon stumbled and leaned on the closest wall. Dizziness suddenly overcoming him and his vision blurred. He tried to blink few times in hopes for it to pass, but it didn’t work at all. He was now starting to see black spots everywhere and he well knew it wasn’t good. He felt himself falling down and just before he blacked out he saw someone running to him.

It was Prem. He was casually walking down the corridor when he noticed Wad. At first he smiled and waved at the boy from afar, but his smile fell immediately when he saw his junior falling on the floor.
He sprinted to his side and scooped him up to check on him.

“Wad? Wad! Wake up!” he shook him. He had to admit that his panic was raising. “Come on”

“P’...” younger murmured, but it still seemed like he was unconscious.

“Damn it” Prem cursed under his nose. People were starting to gather up in a small group around them. Prem quickly decided to carry Wad to the nurse, and he did just that. He scooped him up and stood up, caring him bridal style.

“What are you staring at?! Don’t block the path!” he dismissed everyone, there were no complains as he was intimidating enough.
He walked as fast and careful as he could and soon he was putting Wad down on the bed where nurse told him to.
Prem stood beside as she examined the junior, with his head hanged low and hands curled into the fabric of his shirt. He was worried.

“Wad was in a fight recently, wasn’t he?” the nurse asked. Prem nodded.

“Then I think it might be a concussion. Fortunately it’s not really that bad, but he should rest a lot in following week. If it’s not a problem can you stay with him until he wakes up? I’ll leave the painkillers here, he should take them after he’s awake”
Prem only nodded again. He was glad he finished classes earlier today. He lowered himself on the chair that was beside the bed and sighed heavily. How come this terrified him so much? He knew that no matter who would it be, he would help them and be worried, but it was Wad that was lying here. And it hurt him so much to see that. But he couldn’t understand why.
Just a few days before they were at each other’s throats and after the time that Prem protected Wad they just... stopped arguing. Wad greeted him every time and was just really polite.
That change was welcome of course , but it was also unexpected for sure and confused Prem. It made him smile every time he saw younger male. He wanted to spend more time with him, get to know him better, just see him more.
Upon looking at Wad’s face he suddenly had an urge to take a photo, but brushed it away quickly. He won’t be taking photos of his unconscious junior! That’s just creepy. Why was he even thinking about that?
He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Wad was making him feel weird. But it was a good weird he thought.
He should stop thinking then.
A painful moan from the bed brought him back to reality. Wad moved a bit and tried to sit up.

“Hey, hey easy there” Prem stopped him, but then helped him to raise up slowly.

“P’Prem? “

“Yea”

“What… Where am I? “ he asked confused.

“First, take these” Prem gave him painkillers and a glass of water. “You’re in the nurse’s office, you fainted and I brought you here”
Wad looked down to his hands that were fidgeting with the sheets now.

“Thank you P’… and I’m sorry”
Prem frowned “Why are you apologizing? “

He shifted uncomfortably “You had to help me again”

Prem sighed and punched Wad lightly “What are you talking about? It’s okay, besides I told you to go to the doctor if you feel worse”
Wad looked up “I was fine”

“Wad”

“I’m serious! Everything was okay this morning and then… it just… happened… “ he looked away.
As it seemed, both of then sucked at communicating. So they sat in silence for a while, before Prem broke it.

“How are you feeling now? Can you get up? “

Wad blinked few times and shifted on a bed before speaking “I think so. I feel better “

“Wait here, I’ll call the nurse first”

Wad nodded.
Older male walked to the next room, leaving Wad to his own thoughts.
Prem helped him yet again. He felt some weird tightness in his chest. What now? More injuries he don’t know about? It felt differently though, much more… well it wasn’t painful. What confused him. But he couldn’t think about it any longer, because Prem was back with the nurse.

“Hello Wad, how are you feeling? “ she asked with a smile.

“Better”

“That’s good. But are you aware that you could have injured himself even more fainting like that? Falling on the hard floor is dangerous. I recommend you to stay home for the rest of the week, just to be sure that it wont happen again. You also need plenty of rest and if you don’t feel better, you need to go to the clinic” she explained everything, but at this point Prem was listening more than Wad, who kind of spaced out for a moment.

“Wad”

He flinched when he felt a hand on his shoulder. “Yes?” he was so out of it.

“Come on, I’ll take you to the dorms”

“Oh…” when did the nurse stopped talking? What does she said? He was supposed to listen, wasn’t he.

“Wad?”

It was Prem again. He was waiting for Wad to get up and go with him. He finally stood up and swayed a bit. Well, he was still a bit dizzy. He felt Prem’s arm around his back, holding him up. He suddenly felt warm.

“Are you sure you feel better?” Prem looked at him suspicious.

“I feel ‘better’, not ‘good’… “he murmured.

“What was that?”
Wad stayed quiet and the older male sighed.
They walked outside and later to Prem’s car.
The ride was silent, they didn’t talk at all. Wad was staring forward blankly, lost in thoughts and he haven’t noticed Prem’s worried looks that he gave him form time to time.
He was thinking of that weird feeling in his chest. What was that? It was a crushing, but warm feeling. He thought it over and over, but it wasn’t making any sense—oh. A crushing feeling. The realization hit him like a truck. A crush, he was having a crush on Prem. What. The. Fuck.
How did that happened? Why? When? Why?! They just hated each other and now he has a crush all of the sudden? Where is it making any sense?!
He groaned and run hand through his face. Maybe he was overthinking it.

“Are you okay?”

Oh yea. Prem was taking him to dorms. He wanted to get over with it and be alone.
“I’m fine”
They sat in silence again. And stayed like that for the rest of the ride, with Wad trying not to panic about his new revelation. He might be wrong, that just night be adoration, because Prem helped him. Yea, just a junior-senior admiration. Nothing more.

They arrived and Prem quickly got out ho help Wad.

“I can walk myself, you know?”

“Just shut up and let me help”
Wad sighed at stubbornness of older male.
They made their way to Wad’s room. Younger fumbled with keys before finally opening the door. They walked in and Wad was sat on the bed before he could fall over again.

“Okay, do you have any painkillers left? “Prem asked looking around the room in the meantime.
Wad felt vulnerable like that, even though his room wasn’t anything special. Just few sports posters, baseball in the corner and books scattered around the place.

“I have” he answered.

“Good”
Awkward silence fell over them. Should he aske Prem to leave? Should he thank him again?

“You should rest now, and don’t come to school this week like nurse told you, okay? “ Prem said.
Wad nodded.

“And uh… “ older male scratched the back of his neck “… we could… exchange numbers, so if you needed anything… you could… uh… call me” he finished. Prem’s cheeks grew warm after what he said and he was aware of the look younger was giving him.
Surprised and… flustered? Well that was a bit embarrassing.

“You don’t have to” he stated. It wasn’t his intention to make his junior uncomfortable. He was just genuinely worried and wanted to help.
Wad looked down and nodded again “Uh… um… okay” he took his phone out and gave it to Prem.
Older male took it and entered his number in and returned the device to its owner.
Wad nodded again, probably just to himself, typed what Prem suspected was his name and locked the phone.
This moments between conversation were really uncomfortable, especially because they were trying not to look at each other.

“Okay then, um… send me a text later so I can save your number and… I’ll go now” Prem announced, he said goodbye and walked out.

Wad fell on the bed with phone pressed to his chest. Just junior-senior adoration. He was not having a crush on Prem. Definitely.

“Ugh… stop thinking about it” he sighed “I should send Prem this text”

He quickly typed ‘Hey, it’s Wad, you can now save my number’ and send it before he overthink that as well.
Few seconds later he received a simple smiley face from the older. He just put the phone on the nightstand and decided to go to sleep.

Over this few days Prem would text Wad after classes if he needed anything and sometimes bring him food or more painkillers, he also brought him the school work he received from the teaches and his classmates.
They didn’t talk much, Prem would just come in, leave what he brought and get out. Occasionally they would small talk, but nothing more.
But it was still a nice gesture that he even visits him. Every time he came, Wad felt all warm.
He was still not thinking about the crush theory he had. Not at all. He was not going to acknowledge that his heard skips a beat every time he texts with Prem.
He has to get over it, capture the flag was coming really soon.

The capturing flag went great. It was hard but juniors made it. And now the tying ceremony was going on.
Prem stood on the side and was taking photos. Everything looked so mesmerizing that he couldn’t help himself. He felt a pat on the shoulder. Looking away from the camera there was Wad standing there.

Prem smiled at him. “Wad, come here I’ll tie your wrist”
They sat down “Study hard, remember to take care of yourself too” he tied the string and lingered his touch just a bit longer than necessary. They sat staring at each other with small smiles.

“Oh, let’s take a picture, okay? “ he lifted the camera.
Wad didn’t know what to do with his hands so he awkwardly grabbed his nametag and held it up. Prem took one photo, then another one.

“P’Prem”

Older male put the camera down.

“Can we… go somewhere to talk? “ Wad looked down, his cheeks growing warmer. He was glad it was dark.

“Sure” the other didn’t even take a second to think about it, before answering.
They walked away from the crowd, so now only faint noise was heard.

“So, what do you want to talk about? “ Prem asked.

Wad looked down. He wasn’t actually sure. “I just… wanted to get away form there, I don’t have anything in particular that I want to say “
Prem nodded.
“I’m glad you came today”

Wad smiled “I told you I would”

“You did, but I’m really happy anyway”
They both were smiling at each other. It was nice to talk like that. Wad was even a bit grateful for being injured, because of it he could stand here now. He felt warmness again, palms getting sweaty, eyes breaking contact. He was nervous. He thought about his crush millions of times already and in the end he couldn’t deny it. He liked Prem. A lot. He couldn’t tell how did that happen so fast.
And suddenly it was too hot and he was dizzy again.

“Wad? Are you okay?” Prem put a hand on his shoulder.

He nodded. “I’m okay… “ Wad’s voice was quiet. Why did he aske Prem to go with him? It’s only making everything worse. Why was he so stupid? Why Prem had to be so… so… so Prem. He looked rough and was intimidating, but inside he was caring and he worried for Wad.

“Wad, do you still not feel well? I thought that you should be—”

“I’m okay now, it’s… it’s not that” he said, interrupting the other.

“Are you sure?”

Wad nodded and looked down. He felt so hot and his heart was hammering in his chest. He wanted to tell Prem how he felt, but it was terrifying. Now that they had better contact, he was about to destroy everything again. Make Prem hate him again. He was so caught in panicking over his feelings he didn’t realized that Prem was calling him.

“—ad, Wad! “

Younger finally looked up.

“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re trembling all over” Prem was looking straight at him, searching his gaze every time Wad looked away, with expression of worry. He had both of his hands on latter’s shoulders, keeping him in place.
Wad wanted to curl up into himself, disappear, hide from Prem. He was the only person that made him feel that way. He couldn’t take all of these feelings. It was too much for him. He suddenly crouched down covering his ears.

“Wad?!” Prem kneeled in front of him.

“I’m sorry” Wad mumbled.

“What for? “

“I asked you to come with me… and now I can’t even look at you”

Prem sighed “It’s okay. I don’t know what’s wrong… but I won’t blame you” he looked around nervously “Should I… leave you alone? “he asked hesitantly.
Wad grabbed him by the wrist tightly and shook his head.

“Don’t “he was still looking down, and now he also kneeled.

“Okay”

Then sat in silence for a while.
“Hey, Wad… I don’t want to say anything, but my hand is getting numb” Prem said looking where younger was still clenching on his arm.
He quickly took his hand back “I’m sorry”

“Don’t be”

Silence again.

“P’Prem… "

Older hummed.

“… Why did we stopped fighting? “

The question surprised him “Why do you ask? You rather argue with me—”

“NO!” he almost yelled, surprising both of them. “I… no… I don’t want to… “ his feelings were so frustrating. Why was it so hard to say? It’s just three words. Three. Fucking. Words. Come on! Say it! Just do it and be done with it!

“Wad? Are you okay? “

“No I’m not! I’m not okay P’” he said suddenly. “I’m tired and confused, I don’t know what to do! I want to spend time with you, and I don’t want to argue! But I’m scared! I’m scared because I like you and I can’t stop my feelings for you! But now you’re going to hate me! “he yelled. He was angry, angry at himself. It was done.
He stood up and turned around, ready to walk away, run away. Because he knew he wouldn’t be able to do anything else right now. He wanted to cry, everything was too much.

“Wad”

He stopped. Prem’s voice was not what he expected. It was soft. But he couldn’t look at him.

“Wad, it’s okay” Prem also stood up and walked to the other.

“… You… don’t… hate me? “ he asked, voice tiny, trembling just a little.

“How could I?”

“But I—”

“ Wad”

Younger stiffed.

“Can you look at me?”

He shook his head.

“Oi, listen to your senior! “
Wad flinched and turned around, but he still couldn’t look up.

“Don’t assume things not knowing how other people feel” he said and dragged Wad closer, wrapping arms around him.
Wad’s eyes widen. Prem was hugging him. He wasn’t mad.

“I wound never hate you Wad, I-I also… have feelings for you”

Wad’s heart skipped a bit. What.

“I think I realized it later than I should, but… as they say – better late than never” he then stepped back to, finally, look Wad in the eyes.
Wad was only staring, his eyes getting watery as the stress from all this time washed away from his body.
He looked down again, trying to hide his face as few tears fell down.

“Hey now, don’t be ashamed”

Prem reached and brushed away the tears form Wad’s face making him look at him again.

“It’s okay to cry sometimes” he smiled warmly and lightly kissed Wad’s forehead.
Wad sucked a breath at that gesture. It was still so surreal for him, so unexpected. He was so happy.

“Thank you P’”

“What for? “

“Thank you for not hating me”

Prem sighed “Come here”
And he hugged him again. This time Wad hugged back, clenching tightly to the back of Prem’s shirt and hiding face in his shoulder.
The sure had  a lot of things to figure out still, and they knew they had to talk more. But at this moment they were just happy as they were.
And that was enough for them.
