So hate me love me all I want to say is the story is back and I PROMISE to complete it but please bear in mind I do have other commitments as well so there may not be uploads once a week. Chapter 3

“Right guys you know what you’re going to be tutoring this year and who you’re going to be tutoring. So I expect you all to know what you’re doing. You got that?” said Jane. We all were clutching sheets of paper containing the names of the Campers who we were tutoring this year. I was tutoring Drama, Amy was doing Creative Writing and James was tutoring Music. I couldn’t wait to get started. My eyes met with James and we gave each other wide grins knowing we were both excited about starting. I looked down at the sheet and saw that I was in the small auditorium. I looked up to see Jane walking towards me. “You’re partner is going to be late so I want you to start off on your own, Ok?” she said. I nodded and turned to leave.

I made my over to the small auditorium. It was empty when I arrived and the stale air of dust and no use entered my nose. There were thin beams of light spilling in from the window spotlighting the auditorium. The dusty red seats stood facing the stage. I made my way over to the stage and echoes of past performances played around me. Props were scattered here and there waiting to be used again. I stood in the centre of the stage and looked out at the sea of seats and took in a deep breath.

There was a sudden bang and I was jerked back to the present. Campers were filling in and taking seats in front of me. When two rows were full they sat silently and looked at me waiting. I frowned in confusion, why were they all staring at me like that? Then, I remembered, I’m their tutor. “Oh right you’re all waiting for me to say something.” I smiled sheepishly. “I’m still getting used to the fact that I’m a Councillor.” Some of the older ones laughed and I felt a little boost of confidence. I cleared my throat and looked ahead at all the Campers faces. “My name is Ivana, but everyone calls me Ivy. There’s supposed to be another Councillor with us because you are a quite a big group but they’re running a bit late, so I’ll be starting off today.” I looked around to see their undivided attention towards me; I was beginning to feel a bit nervous. What if I wasn’t a good Teacher and was a pushover? I shook those thoughts from my head and turned back towards the group.

“You’re all here in the Drama workshop because you all want to learn about acting and the theatre. One of the key skills you will need is to trust your fellow actors. I know you want to put on a good performance for yourself but you must remember that you are also part of a team. You should know how to work in a team and remember that you are sharing this stage with other actors.” I took a deep breath and looked at the group. Some were nodding and my confidence grew a bit more. “So today I want to start off by doing trust exercises. I’m sure all of you know what they are, but as always with me there is a twist.” I gave my best evil smile at the group, some of them gulped. I gave an internal evil laugh as I went towards my bag. I reached in and grabbed a woolly hat. I turned toward the group and smiled. “In this hat are all your names in individual pieces of paper. Basically all I’m going to is pick two names out together and the two names will be partners.” I explained.

I saw a girl with blonde curly hair raise her hand. I nodded towards her. “What’s the point in that? Shouldn’t you be doing this exercise with someone trust?” she asked with a small frown. I looked at the group and saw the question in the other’s faces. I turned back to the “I’m sorry what’s your name?” I asked with a smile. “Rachel.” “Well Rachel, the reason I’m making you do the exercise with a complete stranger is because when you are working on a production there is a high chance of you working with people you don’t know. And as I said before the key to good teamwork and a good performance is trust.” I said with a smile. She nodded her head in understanding. I turned back to the group, and asked if they have any other questions. They all shook their heads. “Alrighty then, let’s get started.”

Ten minutes later everyone was paired up and were having chats amongst themselves. You could smell the awkwardness in the room. I was grinning evilly at their torture when I heard the door open. I couldn’t see who it was but all I saw was black spiky hair weaving its way toward the stage. My started beating rapidly when I saw Adam make his way towards me with a small grin on his gorgeous face. Wait did I think that? Oh god, what is happening to me? I swallowed nervously as he came closer. His smile broadened even more when he saw me and I felt my stomach twist into knots. What the heck was happening to me? I shook my head and turned and focused my attention towards Adam.

“So I take it you’re the other councillor?” he said. But I hardly registered a word he said. I was trapped by his piercing green eye and found myself getting lost in them. A clicking noise brought back to the present and I found myself looking at Adam clicking his fingers in front of me with a sight frown on his face. “Are you okay?” he said with a hint of concern. My stomach did a back flip at the fact that he was concerned about me. What the heck? Ok, now I’m worried about my mental health. I shook my head and let out a nervous laugh. “Sorry I just spaced out for a bit.” I said lamely. I internally kicked myself for giving a stupid answer. Adam let out a small chuckle, which had my stomach perform circus tricks again. Oh god, what is happening to me? “You seem to be doing that a lot.” He said. “Yeah, sorry.” I said biting my lips. “So what you got the group doing?” he asked whilst looking around the room. I looked around and saw they were finally doing the trust exercises. I gave an evil grin and turned towards Adam. “I got them doing trust exercises.” I said. He looked at me curiously and said “By judging that evil looking grin on your face you added a little twist?” My grin grew even bigger as I nodded. “I got them to do it with people they don’t know.” I said he let out another chuckle which triggered newly born circus in my stomach. “That is mean.” He said. “I know.” I replied.

I looked at the time and saw that it was ten minutes away from lunch. At the thought of lunch my stomach let out an almighty roar. I gasped and put my hand over stomach. I quickly glanced at Adam and saw him shaking his head with amusement shining in his eyes. “Someone is hungry.” He said with a wicked grin. I narrowed my eyes at him and turned to the group. I smiled as I saw them all talking animatedly with their partners. “Alright guys, I think that’s enough for today.” I called to the group. “Cos this is the first day we’re just going to leave it at that. But bear in mind as of tomorrow we are all going to be doing the trust exercise everyday using the Hat.” I said. A groan was let out of the group and I slid back to evil mode. I heard a small chuckle behind that had my stomach twist again. “Oh I almost forgot, this is Adam, the other councillor.” I turned towards Adam, who was giving everyone a small wave. I turned back to the group. “Because it’s like ten minutes ‘till lunch and I’m starving I’m letting you guys go early as well.” I said with a smile.

I waited until everyone left and made my way to the stage to retrieve my bag. My heart was thudding in my ears as I was well aware that Adam was still in the Auditorium. I grabbed my bag and bumped into a solid wall. Frowning I looked up. I took a sharp intake of breath. “Adam?” I asked. I felt my cheeks turn red as I realised that the ‘solid wall’ was Adam’s chest. Images of him topless entered my mind and I felt my cheeks burn. Thank god he couldn’t read my mind!! I looked up to see that he was looking at me with amusement sparkling in his eyes. “I was wondering whether you wanted to have lunch together?” he asked. I swore I turned maroon then. “S-sure” I stammered, feeling a bit flustered about our close proximity. He gave me a smile that sent my heart into override. Why am I like this with him? This isn’t normal. He took a step back and I found myself letting go of a breath I didn’t know I held. “Great! Let’s go.” Adam smiled. I followed him towards the exit and turned around and looked back at the stage. A smile rose to my lips as I looked at the dusty dark auditorium. It has never looked so beautiful than it did at this moment in time.
