Theodora cried and cried until a white dove came to land on her window pane. That white dove had a piece of paper attached to it. Theodora opened the paper and more tears came rushing down her rosy cheeks. It was a note saying:

Please still be happy without me. Teach your heart to love again and of course to forgive. Please don't hold any grudges against your father because I am the one who chose this path.

I love you, goodbye...

-Alicio

A sudden knock on her door disturbed Theodora from her weeping. Don Isidro, her father, walked in, " Happy Birth---" he didn't finish his greeting when he saw the falling tears from her daughter's pretty eyes. "Darling, why are you crying?" Don Isidro asked. She ignored him. "Wait, what is that?" he asked while trying to reach the piece of paper from her. "What is this?! Haven't I told you to stay away from him?!" Theodora was now crying a river when her mother and three other siblings appeared in the scene. "What have you done to Alicio?!" Theodora questioned back. "Don't you dare talk back to me Theodora! Maybe you forgot who you are talking to!" Don Isidro yelled. Theodora broke down. Doña Juliana went towards her daughter while Theodora's three other siblings went to relax their father.

"Theodora, my daughter, please ask forgiveness from your father," Doña Juliana begged. Theodora ignored her mother and just continued crying. Night came, the chaos is already over, Don Isidro and Theodora still ignoring each other. Theodora lost a reason to live so she decided to leave. Leaving a note saying sorry to Don Isidro and also thanking him. Days, months, and years passed and no one ever heard from Theodora ever again but people said that they once saw Theodora crying in the land of flowers accompanied by butterflies..." My grandmother finished her story.

"Grandma, what do you mean?" I asked confused all over again because of what may be the reason of my grandmother to tell me stories like this.

My grandmother just chuckled and shook her head, "on the 18th this month, something life-changing will happen to you, Leandro. It's either you'll run away from it or you'll face it whole-heartedly," my grandmother said, standing up and walking toward her room. "Good night, darling," she greeted before closing the door of her room.
