I looked back at the castle one last time. My parents waved goodbye. I hesitantly waved back. I wondered if I could see them again. I felt a bit envious of the original capture target for having such loving parents, but quickly shook my head. This world was just a game and my mission was to just get rid of whatever virus was threatening this world. A carriage pulled over and stopped near where I stood. A servant quickly rushed towards the door and pulled it open.

"Your highness, it's time to leave." He said.

I quickly got inside with my luggage. The servants insisted that they could take care of it, but I told them there was no need, as a lengthy carriage ride would be a good chance to have nice, long chat with the book.

I got inside the carriage, though I'd much prefer ride the horses. However, I needed a chance to read the book and get as much information about the academy and plot as I could.

"Hey Book, hurry up and go to the pages with all the information. I don't want to hear your annoying voice at all."

"H-huh! How dare you call this book annoying?! This books has voices greater than any mere mortal could -"

"Turns out your listening skills are quite bad. Did I mention I'm bad at holding things?" I said, while slightly hanging the book outside the window.

"Huh?! Don't b-be m-mad I'll shut up now!" The book said, nervously.

Satisfied with the book's response, I turned to a random page and started reading its contents. The information about the world was quite intriguing, the book was quite informative about the politics, history, geography, magic, and characters that were included in the game. I looked up my character's history and was surprised by the information I found. It seemed the academy would be more interesting than I thought. It even explained why the original character didn't have wings like the rest of his family. I had been quite curious about that matter for a while.

After a while, I decided to take a nap and put the book back in the suitcase. The book was surprisingly silent throughout the whole journey. Seems like I scared it with the empty threat of throwing it out the window. I smiled and decided to take a small nap. When I woke up, we had almost reached the school gates.

The 7 hour carriage ride had left my body quite sore. Eager to get out, I pushed open the door and jumped out. I stretched my poor, stiff muscles and grabbed my suitcase. The coachmen offered carry my luggage. I let him, since I already had collected enough information about the game and this world.

Looking into the distance, I noticed a several more carriages parked at the school entrance. I noticed two familiar faces. Out of a mahogany carriage, a tall, handsome man emerged and politely offered his hand to the other person in the carriage. I recognized him as Prince Reginus, another capture target. The person that came out of the carriage was delicate, petite girl wearing a light pink dress. I realized it was the heroine. I didn't see what was so special about her, but I supposed her features weren't too bad. Of course, both could only be subpar when compared to me. I turned away, disinterested in looking at them further and walked towards the academy. According the map the book showed me, the main hall would be located in the first building. It was a huge academy, not only for students, but also for research facilities dedicated to researching magic. I had to admit, it was impressive how the this world had developed.

Today, it was orientation, where the students would be tested for their abilities and only the ones strong enough will be able to attend the academy. I was confident in my battle skills and the original's body had a high capacity for mana, or the raw form of magic that is present in the air and absorbed only by those who have the affinity for magic. Basically, the more mana you absorb, the stronger your magic will be.
