Okay, so I was stupid enough to listen to Lust. I asked my agent to be my model to be refused. I knew she would say no but I just had to ask. Not my fault again, it was Lust. I knew why she refused, I was expecting it.
"Mister Dawkins, how am I supposed to sell my own naked pictures?" She muttered on the phone, "Think before you ask, idiot."
Hey, no harm in hoping...
"But that's a good idea; I've never really seen you paint a real human. Why don't you paint a guy? Most of the people there are female anyway..."
"Miss Blair, I'm a man. I want women to paint, women!"
"Well, you do have a gay cousin. Maybe he knows some hot chicks. Ask him."
I stared out the phone booth, frowning deeply. I did not want to burden my cousin. I already had troubled him enough when I had run to him when my mom died. Andy took me in, being a psychic as well; he taught me stuff I needed to know. As soon as I was old enough I moved out. I didn't want to ask him for any more help.
"I'm not bothering him. He's moody as it is." I mumbled. The rain began to patter against the phone booth and I could hear Lust sighing as I watched the rain.
"Dawkins," Blair's voice was rough and I heard lightning at the other end, "I don't care. Just do something different okay?"
She hung up on me. How depressing. I put another coin in and dialed Andy's number. A hoarse, tired voice picked up the phone, "Andy here."
I stayed silent, conjuring up the courage; I finally spoke, "Hey coz."
"Lin, hey, been a while. Morning."
"It's two past noon..."
"Morning to me, see?" He chuckled, perking Lust's interest.
"Is that your cousin?" Lust asked, trying to take the phone, I refused to give it.
"Lin, who is that?" I stiffened. I forgot Andy's psychic ability allowed him to hear Lust.
"Um. A college roommate?" I laughed, though it seemed forced.
"You dropped out of high school. How the hell did you go to college?"
I couldn't answer that.
"Anyway," He groaned, "What's up?"
"I need a favor from you."
"Sure. I'm free today. Come over, I'll cook."
The phone went dead.
I had such great friends; they were very polite to me. Lust wasn't such great help either; he simply eyed every good looking person that walked past by. He finally leaned on me. His aura pressing on my shoulders.
"What's your cousin like? Handsome?" He purred curiously in my ear.
I rolled my eyes, "I thought you liked Blair..."
"As long as their cute, sunshine, I don't mind."
"Look, Andy is not to know about you. Don't talk until we get out of there, you hear?"
"Loud and clear, sunshine."
I exited the phone booth quietly and entered the wet streets. The rain was cool on my face. I closed my eyes for a minute, hearing the sound of cries from the 'other side'. The ghost were restless. I couldn't tell why though...
The horns of the city brought me back to the cold streets. I heard Lust humming and I felt strange, as if people were watching me. As if they heard Lust quiet singing. I averted my eyes from the stares and continued to walk on the dirty pavement towards my cousin's apartment.
