chapter 38

"Billy you don't have to do this." Julia begged as Billy stomped up to the frightened girl, his hand grasping her throat as he curled his fingers into her skin.

He effortlessly lifted the girl up into the air, her eyes stinging as tears flowed down her face. "Please."

Billy's body slowly morphed into a Demogorgon. His hand being replaced with a clawed hand, the nails stabbing into her neck.

She let out a cry of pain and terror as the demogorgons mouth opened up, showing rows and rows of teeth. The arm holding Julia pulled her in, black taking over her vision.

Julia gasped loudly as she sprung up out of bed. Pinching her arms, she made sure she was awake. "Hey hey hey, it's okay." Steve's voice comforted as he sat up immediately next to her.

Julia cried, covering her face with her hands. "I'm sorry." She apologized, this being the fourth time she has had a nightmare while sharing a bed with Steve.

He wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her towards his bare chest. "Don't apologize princess, I get them too. But we're right here for each other no matter what." He reminded her as she attempted to steady her breathing. "It's okay love." He commented as she rested her head on his shoulder.

He ran his fingers through his girlfriends hair as she began to calm down. Julia checked the clock to see it read '5:57 a.m.'

Steve followed her eyes as he got an idea in her head. "Wanna watch the sunrise?" He asked as he pressed his lips to her head. She nodded in agreement as they threw the sheets off their bodies, taking one with them.

Steve unlocked his window and climbed up to sit on the roof. The couple sat down, Julia wrapping the sheet around their shoulders. Steve traced shapes onto her visible skin.

She rested her head on his shoulder as the sun began to rise over the town of Hawkins, Indiana. "Actually I'll be right back." Steve said as he got up and went back inside. A few seconds later he popped back out.

He sat himself down, this time his body facing her. He pulled out a small white cardboard box. Lifting the lid up, it revealed a ring with a silver band and a small diamond right in the middle. Julia audibly gasped as she covered her mouth with her hand.

"Before you worry, I'm not asking you to marry me. Yet. But, I want to give you this promise ring. Because frankly, Julia Henderson, I don't see myself with anybody else in the future. You and I, we have gone through a lot together, a lot. And no one else in the world will understand what we went through, they won't know we fought 3 monsters from another dimension. They won't know what happened to us through these last few years. And you Julia, have helped me keep some through it all. No body else would know how to comfort me after the nightmares and vice versa. I want to grow old with you and have Dustin teach our kids Dungeons and Dragons. We would have a big family Thanksgiving of everyone. We could write a less graphic bed time story of our adventures for our kids. And like you could make little doodles and shit." Steve trailed off as Julia smiled brightly at him. She had never pictured Steve Harrington wanting to start a family with her.

"But all in all, I love you Julia Henderson. And I know we are still young, I know that. But I don't ever plan on letting you go, and I hope you have the same emotions towards me." Steve finished as he took a deep breath. "God you're a clique romantic. I love you so much." Julia mumbled through a smile as she leaned her head onto her boyfriends chest.

Steve pulled out the ring and slid it onto her left ring finger. Julia felt like as if she were in a dream. As if she could pinch herself and she would wake up. But it was real life, and she was spending it with the love of her life.

"You do know I won't be ready anytime soon right?" Julia asked as Steve wrapped his arm around his girl.

"Even 10 years from now, I promise I'll be around. Just tell me whenever you're ready." Steve assured her. Julia looked up at him, his eyes staring dreamily into hers. "You are... something Steve Harrington." He tipped his head down as she tipped her head up. They met half way as they gently pressed their lips together

And all was well.

You guys that is it for season 3😭 I refused to let Hoppers speech be the last thing y'all have to read so I decided to make this cute fluffy chapter.
