After dealing with Travis and Jessica, life began to quieten down for Cassie and Josh for the next few months. After one more fiesty encounter with Jessica, where Cassie punched her, they hadn't heard a peep from her or Travis since. It was now late August, and Cassie was due in a couple of weeks, but never the less, today was a special day as today, Josh would finally be off crutches from the accident. He had allowed plenty of time for his other injuries to heal and this was the last part in his road to being 100% fit and healthy again.

Josh: You know I'd rather see you at home resting, prepping for this little one.

Cassie: Both me and Bumpy agree we should be here, they wanted to see their dad complete his road to recovery.

Josh: Still pretty shocked that Trav could be a part of all this...

Cassie: My God, I hope he isn't. As far as I'm concerned, you're the father of this baby. It's what we mums call a mother's instinct.

Josh: Well, who am I to argue with the world's most amazing mum?

Josh and Cassie kissed before they quickly separated as the doctor had returned with the test results for Josh's knee.

Doctor: Well, from what we can see, the knee has fully recovered, and the tissue, along with the cartilage seem to be holding together just fine. In my opinion, you won't be needing those anymore.

He pointed to the crutches while all three of them smiled.

Doctor: The only bit of advice I would say is go easy on the knee for the next few days. Take baby steps at first then try and push yourself a bit more every day.

Josh: I will, doc. Thanks a lot for that, it's been a huge weight off my mind.

Doctor: My pleasure. And also, congratulations on the baby. I'm sure you both will be amazing parents.

Cassie: Thank you, doctor.

As he left, Cassie helped Josh get back up to his feet as he steadily put pressure on his leg. Just as he was about to lose his balance, Cassie grabbed his hand and corrected him.

Josh: Phew, thanks for that. Might need to check my bearings a little.

Cassie: No kidding, now we'd better get back, cos my mum instincts say that this little one is hungry.

She rubbed her bump as Josh then put his hand on top of it.

Josh: You're one heck of a little one, I'll give you that! And you haven't even popped out of your little hidey hole yet!

Cassie smiled as Josh was talking to the bump.

Josh: Now come on, let's get you two fed.

Cassie: You sure you'll be okay cooking?

Josh: You've done enough for me these past few months. I think it's about time I return the favour.

They held hands as they headed for the car and drove off back to their apartment, where Josh made dinner and kept both Cassie and their unborn baby well fed.

2 weeks later...

Josh's knee had fully recovered now, and one morning, he was making an early lunch, when all of a sudden, he heard a loud scream coming from the living room, where Cassie was. When he saw the sight before him, a small pool of water had formed in between Cassie's legs, as she held on to the edge of the sofa with all the grip she had.

Josh: Looks like they're finally ready to pop out!

Cassie: Let's go, quickly!

Josh ran to get the baby bag he packed for Cassie when the time would eventually come. He tossed it around his shoulder before running back to Cassie and helping her to the car.
