[Violets POV]

I sit down next to Mugman, he smiles, his hand grazes mine. I can feel my cheeks glow brighter.

"What's up?" Mugman whispers, closing his eyes in peace. Cuphead grunts, pulling on his fishing rod, acting like he caught a shark.

"It's my birthday, tomorrow." I mumble. He nods. I stare intensely into the water. I chuck a rock, watching the ripples. He smiles.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Cuphead yells, shoving a fish at my face. I laugh, grasping the fish, putting it into his head. He screams, running in circles of panic, I laugh dramatically. Mugs laughs awkwardly, intertwining our fingers, we both blush vividly.

"My parents are being super annoying right now, I don't want to be home at all." I sigh, telling Mugs about how much they've been worried about my health.

"Isn't that a good thing?" He tilts his head, small drips of liquid spill out, "Aren't parents supposed to worry? I mean, I don't remember our parents at all." Mugman shifts his other hand over his face, looking down at the soft licks of the rivers waves.

Cuphead finally gets the fish, sending it back into the river, I groan feeling anxiety grow in my heart. Mugman notices, Shifting his hand to my cheek.

"W-What?" I stutter, holding his hand harder. I gaze at the soft sunset, noticing the time. I couldn't stay out too late or i would get grounded on my own birthday. I stand up, saying goodbye to the Cup Brothers, wishing them well. I get another "Happy Birthday" from cuphead, and i tight embrace from Mugs. I begin my walk home, skipping across the tracks.

Many costumers stagger out of the casino, closing early? Dad walks out the door, making immediate eye contact. He grabs me by my fragile wrist, dragging me to Father's office. They sit on his throne, staring down at me. " You're such a big girl now, Violet. We have made a difficult decision, we can't let you leave the casino anymore." My eyes widen, hands shaking.

"You need to take responsibility as Jr. Casino manager. We need you to be full-time." I tear up, thinking of Mugman, how much my heart yearns for him. I lay in my bed, crying myself to sleep. Dad stands in the doorway, watching my sorrow, he kisses my forehead.

(Next Morning)

I wake up, still lying in bed, aching. I look at my clock. " 1 pm" I get dressed, my liquid puffing over my mug-rim. The casino is booming, I notice many people surround the craps table; more than usual... I hear dad laugh, then use a very performance-like voice. I rush over, noticing Cuphead and Mugman.

"What the Hell?'
