Third Person POV

Tick, tock, tick, tock.  The clock in Mr Johnson's Social Studies class seemed to be going especially slow.  "What if we didn't ever colonize in North America?"  Arian asked, thinking aloud as always.  There were only two minutes left of class, and she wanted to make it go by as quickly as possible.  She usually found what Mr Johnson had to say interesting.

"We would not be here, and we would probably still be,ah, what do you kids call it?  Dumb, yes, we would be dumb idiots in a horrible world of sickness."

Better than being here.  Arian thought, studying Mr Johnson.

Mr Johnson was a middle aged man, maybe in his 40s.  He had a head full of gray hair and a mustache, which made him look grumpy more so because he never smiled.  He was full of stories, but had one of the best poker faces Arian had ever seen.  His face was round, with a few wrinkles that were obvious, but somehow made him look younger.  He always wore a solid colored polo, and khakis with old dress shoes.

It was then that the bell rang.  Arian, despite her eagerness of school finally being over – Social Studies was her last class – liked getting out last.  It meant she wouldn't get squished and thrown into lockers, which had happened before, she was in there until the night janitor finally let her out, at 7 p.m.!  She liked being by herself, and hated large groups.  She only had three friends.  A school, with three thousand students, and only three of them could get along with her.  Most saw it as pathetic, and she did, too.  When she finally got out the classroom door and to her yellow locker, school had been out for ten minutes, and the hallways were almost entirely empty.

Of course, she had to stop by the band room and grab her viola – an instrument kind of like the violin, but deeper – then go to the library for library duty.  Library duty ws basically where students stayed from 3:15 (five minutes after school got out) to 4, and just helped in the library.  Arian, Kylee, and Luke were the only ones that actually showed up.  Usually, Kylee checked in and out books, Luke helped people find books, and Arian put book back up on the shelves and organized it all.  The librarian, Sharon, kept all their stuff in the backroom.

Sharon was only in her mid 20s, and very energetic.  She had blonde hair, with pink streaks, and sparkling blue eyes.  She always had gum or candy, and her smile was always there, on her face. She was about 5'8, and could rock any fashion trend.  Everybody liked Sharon.

So that was how it was, Arian's schedule was pretty simple.  Breakfast.  School.  Classes,  Lunch.  Classes.  Orchestra. Classes.  Library duty.  Home.  Homework.  Sleep.  Repeat.

But that was until her mind shifted, and she viewed everything in a whole new perspective.
