The stars had vanished to the clear sky and a new day had dawned.
Llandra was seated on a bench under their house, he was drinking his coffee when his Father showed up and seated beside him.
"I would love some coffee son" he said "are there some more?"
Llandra nodded, he walked where the kettle was and filled a cup. His Grandmother had brought high grade coffee beans along her way here and the sweet taste of aroma excite the nose.
"The talisman looks good to you" his Father said after receiving the cup
Llandra touched the necklace "it looks normal but the effect is anything but ordinary" he said "but it must be first handed to you Father before me"
His Father smiled "Yes, when I was a kid... I really want to have it" he replied "but now I think you needed it the most."
Llandra look at him "Why Grandma didn't gave it to you Father?"
The Chief smirked "She said she still needed it" he clasp the cup "Do you know where did she used it?"
"Where?" Llandra responded. He really didn't know the reason
"For revenge of course" he said as he laugh "she disturbed and angered all the entities on their island and she did not fear them because she have the talisman. At that time, the Sebayan don't want to fight anymore but she created another battlefield for them. I don't know how she did it but that catastrophe was only solved when they beg for other tribe to help them... of course the price was great, one by one they started to bargain all their conquered islands just for others to help them."
His Father take a sip and continued "Although she also told me that it was not enough for them."
Llandra was shocked by his Father sudden confession. They said that the Sebayan tribe incur the wrath of nature because there are many lives that have been taken by them, but it turns out that the one who is responsible for creating the nature's wrath on the Sebayan was her Grandmother and not the nature at all. He felt proud and weary for the same time.
"What will happen to Grandma now that she doesn't have the Talisman anymore?" Llandra asked his doubts
"I don't know" his father shrugged his shoulders "I guess we can just think that she doesn't have her extra protection anymore."
Llandra dropped his head, stared on his coffee and stayed silent
"Don't feel wronged by yourself" his father said, his voice was sincere "Mother is more afraid of losing you than her own. He valued you more than herself and the best way for you to thank her is to live. The mission is hard son but you must prioritize your life... I know what is running on your mind but you must prioritize your survival than the mission... I myself don't know what to do if I am going to lose you too."
Llandra glance him, below his Father's brow was a watery eyes "Don't worry Father" he said "I will retreat if necessary but also fight if there is a chance of winning."
His Father gulped his remaining coffee "I'm expecting that" he said "more coffee please"
Llandra smiled hesitantly but once again poured coffee on his Father's cup
"The other tribe was also sending their heirs for the mission" his father said "they want their heir to be the one who will marry the Bodyaw's daughter."
Llandra take a sip of his coffee "it was a battle royale for the Heirs then" he jokingly said
His Father smiled "They are afraid by some unseen circumstances, like what if an ordinary member of their tribe rescued the daughter then threaten their positions on the tribe..." his father said "I don't know if that was a blessing in disguise or a careful preparation by the Bodyaw tribe."
