Wednesday are the days I meet with Kiko. Training lang ang schedule niya that day and ako naman morning lang. So we have the rest of the afternoon to spend together. He travels all the way from Eastville to Middle.
I am just in the middle of texting him that I'm on my way out when I see someone outside the school gates. Is that... no, that can't be him... pero...
It looks like him but... it doesn't... who is that?
Nakatungo ang lalaki sa dulo, nakaputing t-shirt at maong na pants. May hawak itong phone. Napatingin ako sa sapatos nito. I've seen those shoes before.
Si Kiko nga 'yun.
I think he sensed that I am close because his head rises up and his eyes locks with mine.
It is him.

What happened?
A smile appears on his lips. I don't think I've ever seen him smile like that. "New haircut?" tanong ko sa kaniya nang makalapit na ko.
He smells nice, too... had he gone shopping? Wait, not like hindi siya mabango the other times. Wala kasi siyang amoy if I can remember right.
"Oo eh," sagot naman niya sa'kin kasabay ng isang kamot sa batok niya. "Pinabawasan ko lang. Mahaba na kasi."
Tumango ako sa kaniya. "It looks good on you. The ponytail is a nice touch."
His smile gets wider. How come I haven't noticed that he has such a big smile? It's the hair... it's probably the hair. "Thanks," sagot niya.
"So where are we going today?" tanong ko.
"Ikaw, ano bang gusto mong gawin? Gusto mo bang manood ng movie? Showing na 'yung sinend mo sa'kin na trailer noong nakaraan."
"Oh, right. Sige. Lakad na tayo?"
Nagsimula naman na siyang maglakad papunta sa sakayan at tahimik lang akong sumunod sa tabi niya. For the past four months that I had been seeing Kiko, I think... I feel a little change here. I can't quite place it just yet.
I first met Kiko because of an advertisment. I needed someone to set up a website for my clothing line and I found an organization that sent me an email address of a certain Francisco Formalouza.
That was how my relationship with Kiko started. On emails.
