Chapter 2

A few months had passed since Jack encountered with his brother. He stood over Black Lake City, watching the little citizens down there walking around. The disgust on his face he couldn't stand to see it.

He then heard a portal open behind him and he turned to see Von showing a crooked smile. Jack chuckled.

"I thought you would have never showed." Said Jack.

Von smirked, "The dark one has returned and the sonic warrior has given up. You must be ready for the next phase of the plan."

"He is up to something." Jack clinched his eyes hearing a voice in his head.

"Shut up."

"Excuse me?" Von growled.

"That voice in my head." Jack sighed and opened his eyes back up.

Von chuckled, "My brother."

Jack's eyes then closed once again and once they opened back up, they were black with a pinch of blue in his pupils.

"It is always great to hear you, Shadow." Von smiled.

Shadow grinned, "You shouldn't be allowing this torture happen to this boy."

Von scoffed, "Oh come on. He needs somebody like you and you know that. You can feel it."

Shadow rolled Jack's eyes, "I can feel how alone the boy feels. His thoughts are very loud."

"It gives you a more of a reason to stay with him. Guide him whether it is good or bad." Von smiled.

Shadow chuckled, "That is what I am afraid of, brother. I abandoned my body just so nobody could allow me to fall in the wrong hands. We all know what happens if that ever happens again."

Von smiled and stared at the people walking around, "I am very much aware. You may be able to help him stay up on his toes. You do not always have to be an evil being, you know."

Shadow sighed and turned away, "Maybe. He is just a boy, and he has a lot to learn and atone for."

"I agree," Von nodded, "you both will learn together. The grief and revenge he feels will not last forever."

"What of you?" Shadow asked.

"What will happen to you? Blackheart may come after you someday soon."

Von turned from Shadow and Jack with a smirk over his shoulder, "The dark lord has his own endeavor on his hands. I must prepare what shall come next."

Von then turned his head from his shoulder and swung his hand opening a portal doorway to a mountain top with a castle in the distance.

Shadow then closed his vessel's eyes and Jack's dark brown eyes colored up his vision. He looked around after watching Von close the portal behind him.

"What happened?" Jack wondered.

Shadow's voice then echoed through his head, "We have a lot to learn, kid."

Jack raised a brow, "What do we do now?"

"Your brother may be around any day now. We can find clues of his whereabouts."

Jack then gave a crooked smile and quickly his body became a patch of darkness that launched him into the air away from the city.
