Cold.

It was the first thing he felt.

As silver eyes opened and looked to the broken down roof. Frank groaned and raised his head from the crooked position it had been resting in and moved it side to side, cracking the aching and numb joints.

Sitting up he stretched his whole mass and looked around the the resort. All from the fireplace and the gentle tapping of snow against the broken down windows. It was silent.

"Where are they? ... Can't all be on a fuckin trial.. Could they?"

Frank asked, moving from the circlet of couches and zipping up his leather jacket as he walked around the old once abandoned ski lodge. The creaking of floorboards beneath his feet and the chill of the permanent winter that encased the so called 'home' of the Legion sending shivers up his spine.

"Fuck it's freezing..."

"Then put more coal in the fire pit, dumbass."

Spinning on heel, Frank let out a huffed laugh as he saw his friend in the doorway, blood covered and bent in his posture. Exhaustion evident on his every feature as he walked in.

"Joey!"

Frank exclaimed with excitement and a genuine joy to see his friend. He hated being alone. It was something close to torture to be alone with his thoughts. Enough he often threw fits and blasted his favorite hard bass songs just to clear the un-nerving silence that would consume him and his surroundings.

"Fuck man! When did you get back?"

He practically ran up to the other, watching the taller man take his mask off and throw back the black hood of his dark and beloved sweater to greet him with show of a pearly while smile.

"Hey bro, uh.. Just now actually. Is Julie still on a trial?"

Joey asked as he raised a hand and bumped fists with Frank. Walking in and taking his gear off to better relax in the main room of the resort. His hoodie, bag and beloved knife all being thrown onto the broken and worn down check in desk.

Taking few steps toward the circlet of couches, he waved his friend to follow and parked himself down with a heavy groan and huff. Body aching and exhausted from the trial that had left him feeling so.. filthy. Perhaps not from the blood, mud or sweat. But from the heavy burden of taking the life of four almost innocent people.

But this was how it was. This was their job and he was going to do it. Even if he hated it.

"Man.. I had to go against that new asshole.."

"Fuck not only was he tall, but he was fucking HEAVY!"

Joey groaned as he threw his head back, watching from the corner of his eye as Frank joined him on the couch. Feeling the gentle shifting as he sat there taking steady large breaths, barely noticing the pair of silver eyes that where tracing his every curve.

"What's up bro?"

He finally asked. Turning his head to the side to view his friend who only stared into his own miss matched eyes of peridot and amber. Pale tattooed and bandaged hand reaching up to stroke his cheek softly. However, the sensation it left, burned and stung his skin.

"Ssk-- ow.."

"Your cheek's cut, dude.."

Frank spoke up finally, his silence had been from wonder and curiosity. It was hard to see the small cut upon his friend's cheek, that was however until it had started to bleed. Peaking his interest as the red liquid shimmered as brightly as the other's eyes in the firelight.
