Ice-Cream Wonders

( Alex's POV )

My eyes opened, only to be blinded by the light. The sun snuck through the cracks of the blinds. I picked up my phone and read the time. 11:30 am........ FUCK! Sam and I start work at 12! I quickly got up and put on some clothes, a black hoodie and some black skinny jeans. I went over to Sam.

" Sam! Wake up! We have to go to work soon! " I said as I shook him. He slowly opened his eyes and I could tell he was trying to process what I had just said to him. He should start freaking out in 3..... 2...... 1-

" WAIT WHAT THE FUCK?! AH! HELP, GRAB ME MY BLUE PASTEL HOODIE AND SOME SKINNY JEANS, I'M NOT GETTING UP FROM HERE WITHOUT SOME CLOTHES ON. " he yelled. Called it! I wonder why he's embarrassed to be undressed around me? Eh, I don't really mind. I went into the closet and grabbed his cute baby blue hoodie and some black skinny jeans. I tossed them over to him and turned around to give him some privacy.

" Ok, you can turn back around now. Which one of us is driving? " he asked while he put on his sneakers.

" I'll drive us, " I said. I put on my shoes and then we both ran downstairs. We hopped into Daisy's truck and drove off to Ice-Cream Wonders. 

-------------------- 10 Minute Time Skip --------------------

We arrived at the ice-cream shop and instantly ran to the back area. Sam scooped the ice-cream and put toppings on it while I was the cashier and server. Sam and I put on our aprons and got right to our positions. The bell on the door rang, meaning a customer just walked in. I took a deep breath and then gave the biggest smile I could.

" Hi! Welcome to Ice-Cream Wonders! What can I get for you on this lovely summer day? " I greeted.

" I'd like a small Rocky Road on a waffle cone. Can I get chocolate sprinkles on that too? " the woman asked.

" Of course! Is that all? " I asked as I wrote down her order.

" Yes, " she replied.

" Oh, and I'm Michelle, " she added. I quickly wrote a small heart on the bottom of the order and handed it to Sam. He gave a small smile and then got to scooping the ice-cream. I watched as he added the sprinkles to it and then handed it to me through the window.

" Ice-cream for Michelle! " I called out. The woman quickly ran over.

" That'll be $2.59 please, " I said. She handed me the money and then put $5 in the tip jar.

" Thank you! " she thanked me and then walked off.

" She totally had a thing for you, " Sam said after she was long gone. I rolled my eyes.

" Dude, you say that about every girl that gives a tip. I'm not that hot, " I said. Sam laughed as if I had told the funniest joke in the world.

" Whatever, " he said as the bell on the door rang again. This time, a more familiar face appeared. Or should I say, faces. Despite my anger and disappointment, I still gave the biggest smile I could.

" Hi! Welcome to Ice-Cream Wonders! What can I get for you today? " I asked.

" Hi Alex. I need to talk to you and Sam, when's your break? " Kayla asked.

" At 3:00. How did you find out where we worked? " I said.

" I overheard Jessie and Daisy talking. I figured I'd give a visit, and I really need to talk to you. Well- we need to talk to you. " She replied. Wendy and Jake stood behind her, holding one another in their arms.

" Fine, are you going to get something? You're holding up the line, " I said.

" Oh, yes. Chocolate Moose-Tracks for me with chocolate syrup on it, Strawberry Cheesecake with caramel drizzle and rainbow sprinkles on it for Wendy, and Pistachio ice-cream with chocolate sprinkles for Jake, " Kayla requested. I wrote down their order and wrote their names at the bottom of the paper and then handed it to Sam. His eyes widened and I could tell that it bothered him, but he quickly brushed it off and got scooping. I took everyone else's orders as I also handed out orders constantly. This was hard work. At least people were generous with the tips in this town,
