LILLY STANDS at Matthew's front door and knocks. Footsteps echo from the otherside as Matthew runs forward, unlocking the door and peeking around at Lilly.
"Lilly! Quick, I have a new book to show you." He turns and runs up the stairs to his room, Lilly hot on his heels.
"What's it about?" She asks as she crosses the border to his room.
"Space." Is his reply as he runs over to his bookshelf and removes the largest book Lilly has ever seen. He struggles as he carries it to his bed and the two sit shoulder to shoulder as Matthew opens it, one side resting on his own knee and the other on Lilly's. "Look," He begins, pointing to a picture of the solar system, "there's us - earth - and then these are all the other planets near us. Mercury, Mars, Venus, Uranus-"
Lilly falls into fits of giggles and Matthew stops in confusion, "What?" He asks her.
"Uranus. Like your bum." She manages through fits of giggles.
His eyebrows furrow in confusion before his eyes open wide. "I guess I've never thought of it like that."
"Of course you haven't." She replies, rolling her eyes and bumping his shoulder with her own.
Matthew closes the book and stands from the bed, placing it back on his book shelf. He grabs Lilly's hand and drags her towards the window. "Look at the stars." He presses his finger against the glass, "They're balls of burning gas millions of miles away."
"Woah."
"Yep. And they could have stopped burning but we still see it because it takes years for the image to reach us."
"How do you know so much?"
"I read. You should try it sometime."
"Nah, I think I'll leave that to you."
