"Wake up my dear" said doctor Nonattsu as he plugged in a power chord to the machine where he stored his creation. It took a little bit of time to warm up his beloved invention but instead of distracting himself, he waited for it to turn on.

As he waited he looked down at what he created. A humanoid female android designed for combat. This was no ordinary android. She was made with a purpose. According to the doctor, she would be the one to save humanity from extinction.

Now fully charged he pressed the power button on her back and watched her open her bright blue eyes.

She spoke in a soft voice "Processing... Systems Stable... Kioru program on... It is nice to see you doctor. Are we gonna run more tests?"

Doctor Nonattsu smiled and ruffled her hair "No Kioru.. It's time for you to see the real world"

"I'm allowed outside the lab? I thought the outside world was dangerous for an android like me. What made you change your mind?" Kioru looked at him confused. He would never let her outside because he thought the outside world wasn't for her but it looked like his mind changed.

"You are far from ready my dear. I still haven't even fully built you but we are running out of time. The world needs someone like you. Someone strong and special."

Kioru shakes her head in disagreement "I am not special doctor. If the world needs someone at this moment is you. You can create things that could help the humans."

"That's sweet Kioru but no. Im afraid my creations have only brought problems to the people.Things have gotten out of hand recently. Lets go outside. I want you to see for yourself what's ruining our world."

Kioru stood up from the machine and trembled but quickly regained balance. Following him she looked back at her station feeling a bit nervous about her future. Going outside was something she had never done before and the thought itself made her feel unsafe.

The doctor lead her to the higly secured entrance. It was a huge door controlled by a locked terminal. He typed the code and with a loud hissing sound the door opened showing the bright sun in the distance.

But the sun was the only lovely site in front of Kioru. In the distance she could see burnt trees, dried plants, animal bones and abandoned buildings. She shook slightly suddenly feeling overwhelmed with the terrible sight "How did it come to this?"

"My brother and i created the first androids. At first people didn't really care about it. They called us idiots for trying to mimic or replace the humans. I don't know stupid people Kioru." He giggled quietly and continued "But then a time came when the people needed androids. After a big war the world lacked people to help those in need. Me and my brother provided our creations and we got praised for it. I was pretty happy that the world finally realized what we where capable off. But my brother thought it was an insult. He denied working with the people that treated us wrong from the start. And after things where calmed he decided to strike. Every single robot he created began changing its program and instead of helping, they started killing. And that was just the tip of the iceberg. His idea was creating a world where humans needed his creations to exist. Im afraid he did... Most of the humans got either locked away, killed or enslaved.. I didn't like his ideals so i escaped to this place. And well it's only gotten worst over the years."

Kioru stepped outside and looked around studying the area. "Im going to help the people and free them from your brother's claws." Looking at him he said "I'll do it doctor. I'll save the world ". Her voice trembled on that last sentence. She knew what she was made for, but she wasn't sure she could do the task

Doctor Nonattsu smiled and ruffled her hair softly "I know you're scared and are trying to stay brave. Its normal for a girl so young. But desperate times comes with desperate needs and you're what the world needs right now." He looked up to the sky and said "Grab your backpack and start your journey. You should go to the nearest village and help the people with yours gifts."

She grabbed her backpack and put it on feeling the weight of its interior and stumbling slightly. Taking one step Kioru knew it was time. "I'll be back doctor. Take care." And with that she walked into the distance and her journey began.
