Yang was currently crushing every bone in my body with a bear hug. death by love, that's a strange way to go. "oh, i can't believe my little sister is coming to beacon with me" Yang said, FINALLY letting me go. "your only older by 7 seconds, Yang" I said.
BLEGH
the very obvious sound of throwing up interrupted our 'quarrel', and caused us to look in the direction of the sound. A blonde guy was hunched over a pile of vomit, revealing what he had for breakfast. "you've got some on your shoe, yang" I said. Yang, in response started trying to shake it off her boot.
(the next day)
"I still find it hard to believe that you have no gun feature on your weapon" Yang said, putting her bracelets on. "don't need to, I'm fast enough, and my semblance allows me to attack from a distance" I replied. "ugh, I'm trying to find my locker, and I just have to hear a cocky kid tell me how 'great' they are" someone groaned. "it's only called cocky if you don't have the ability to back it up" I said, using my semblance for the glowing eyes. "tch, whatever" the white haired girl said, walking off.
(like 10 minutes later)
I was launched into the air over the emerald forest when I realized that I had very little gravity dust left. barely enough to safely land. This dust was one of the more expensive types, so I wasn't planning on using it if I didn't have to. Not to mention it was one of the few dust types that had an effect other than torturing the bloodstream of the person or thing I cut.
This made things a bit more complicated. Quickly fumbling through my dust vials, trying to find a useful one as the ground hrew closer.
poison, fire, ice, wind, electricity, gravity... other than my gravity dust, nothing else was really useful. I was going to have to try something else. I quickly made a rope of shadow hanging from a branch of the tree I was going to land near, and grabbed it, swinging foward, and landing. My arms ached, but it was better than the alternative. the pain would likely be gone in a few minutes.
I walked north for a bit, before looking at familiar white hair. she didn't hear me, which wasn't too suprising, so I went up and tapped her shoulder, freaking her out. "so we're partners, huh. nice sword you got there" I said, "I see it also uses dust for different effects". "well, tha- wait, also" she asked in shock. "yeah, I don't use it too often, as Murasame is already deadly enough as it is, but it's useful to keep around. also, do you happen to have any spare gravity dust on you, I'm nearly out" I asked, showing her the mostly empty vial of dust. "No, I don't. I might have some, but not on me" She said. "oh, right, my name Is Ruby Branwen, you are" I asked. "Weiss Schnee" She said, shaking my hand. "that explain the hair" I said. "Well you being a Branwen explains the eyes" Weiss said. "I guess red eyes aren't exactly common, so I'll give you that, anyways, we should continue north" I said.
quick little note, you may realize Weiss isn't being so snobby, seeing as this is season 1. keep in mind that in this story, ruby, for the most part, is not as child-like and air-headed, despite still being socially akward, seeing as she forgot to introduce herself until the middle of the conversation. This Ruby hasn't done anything to upset the ice-queen, other than being 'cocky' in the locker room.
(literally five minutes of just walking later)
"so this is the place where the relics are" I rhetorically asked. As we walked up onto the large platform, all we saw was chess pieces. "really" was all I had to say. "looks like we're not the first ones here" someone said, walking through the bush. "well thats cool with me" a familiar voice said. "looks like I beat you to it, Yang" I grinned. "you act as if this were some sort of competition, Ruby" Yang said. "so, care to introduce me to your partner" I said. "oh, yeah, Ruby, this is Blake, Blake, this is my younger sister, Ruby" Yang said. "sister" blake asked. "you're older by seven seconds" I deadpanned. "hey, Ruby, the white knight good with you" Weiss asked. "yeah, I'm good with that" I said. "well, you gonna introduce us to YOUR partner" Yang asked. "yeah, Yang this is Weiss, Weiss this is Yang. we're sisters, and she loves to call herself the older sister. Yang, Seven seconds does not count" I said, 'subtly' telling Yang how I felt. "hold on, YOU TWO ARE SISTERS" Weiss asked in denial. "Twins, no less" Yang added. "Yang takes after our dad, I take after our mom" I clarified.
"WHOO-HOO" someone yelled, followed by a huge crash. "aw, it's broken" the girl pouted who came in, riding an ursa. "If only grimm didn't fade to dust, that's a lot of wasted potential meat" I sighed. "nora *pant* NEVER do that again" said the girls partner.
next yelling was heard, and a guy was falling from the sky. using my shadow, I made a weak platform that boosted me up, then broke. I managed to catch the guy, and landed. "thanks for that, I thought I was a goner" He said. I didn't respond. I sensed massive killing intent. "guys, back up, something big is coming" I said, as a spartan dressed girl ran through the bushes. everyone looked like they were going to laugh at me, but then a Death Stalker came through, knocking a few trees down.
"Hey Weiss, got any ice dust in that chamber of yours" I yelled back. "yeah, why" she responded. "Can you hold it in place for me" I asked. She didn't awnser, but I knew she was preparing to trap the grimm. "Everyone else, head for the cliff, we've got this" I said, and they started running back to the cliff.
I saw ice crawling up the oversized scorpions legs, and I raised Murasame, putting a Vial of Poison dust into the chamber. "eliminate" I muttered. I used another shadow to launch myself into the air, and I went for the Grimm's weakpoint. the part connecting it's stinger to the rest of it's tail. I swung Murasame through it's weakpoint, and watched as the stinger fell. It's stinger falling to the ground. I sheathed Murasame, and started walking back to Weiss. "ARE YOU GONNA KILL IT OR WHAT" Weiss yelled.
"3...2...1... and it's dead" I said. "w-what" she asked. "that's half a vial of poison dust, most of it being sent straight into it's bloodstream. on a larger beast like that, it requires most of said injected dust to kill them, even if it's directly in the heart. in other words, it's fate was sealed, even if I only scratched it. actually, it be more effective, seeing as the poison would be localized" I said, taking the vial out of my blades hilt.
(later that day)
"and last but not least, Ruby Branwen, Yang Xiao Long, Blake Belladonna, and Weiss Schnee, the four of you collected the white knight piece. from here on out, you will be known as team RWBY, led by Ruby Branwen" Ozpin said. I looked around the room, and saw two red eyed birds sitting on a window-sill. 'you two couldn't miss seeing us get assigned to our teams, huh, Mom and Uncle Qrow' I thought.
