(3rd person)
outside of the dust shop, 'From Dust to Dawn', an old man just finished putting up a 'newly reopened' sign, after the fiasco about two months back. He started climbing down his ladder, before he fell down onto his back. " 'scuse me. sorry. I'm not really from around here" A girl with emerald green hair said, reaching her hand out to help the man up. "um, woulf you mind pointing me in the direction of this shop" the girl said.
The elderly man looked at the piece of paper the girl held up for a few seconds, before nodding, and pointing in the direction of her destination. "thank you" she said, turning back and waving. "I knew you were lost" a grey haired teen said. "mercury" the green haired girl started, "I will seriously pay you to shut up". "that's not your money" mercury said. "but it could be yours for five minutes of silence" the girl responded. "hmmm... no deal" mercury said. "fine" the girl said, taking the money out of the stolen wallet. "whatever" mercury said, getting off of the wall, "you want me".
"so how much farther is this place, emerald" Mercury asked. "a few more blocks" Emerald responded. "ugh, this place is so dull" mercury groaned. "I kind of like it" Emerald said, "tall buidings, diverse culture" emerald said. "and plenty of doppy people to pick-pocket" Mercury added. "that's every city" Emerald said. "oh, Emerald, master theif, please don't take my money. I barely have enough to get by" Mercury mocked. emerald scowled. "*huff* you're no fun today"
(Ruby's pov)
"hey, guys" I said. "oh, heya, rubes" Yang said. "do we have any plans for starting the semester, or are we just going on a whim" I asked. "this seems unlike you. are you okay ruby" Weiss asked. "despite how I can act, I'm still a seventeen year old, and can still have fun. Is that really all that odd, or should I just keep acting the way I was before" I genuinely asked. "oh, no, it's just, I'm not used to you acting so..." Weiss said, trying to find the right word. "young, childlike, need I go on with the possible words that you could use" I asked, "anyways, I figured we could start this semester off with a bang, and do, ... you know, team stuff" I said. "I always start my semesters off with a yang" Yang said. "not helping, Yang" I said. "however we spend this last day of break, I say we should do it as a team" Weiss said, before having a pie flung at her face.
(outside the lunchroom)
"heh, man that's harsh" A blue haired teen said. "they were fighting side by side, and they were super fast, and they chased away that torchwick guy" a blonde monkey faunus said, recalling the fight he saw a week ago. "Nice" the blue haired boy said.
the pair walked into the lunch-room, as everyone was running out. Nora was standing on a bunch of tables laughing, chanting "I'm queen of the castle". On the other end of the room, _WBY was preparing for the upcoming fight. Ruby sitting out, eating through everyone's meat as if it were popcorn. Watermelons were being lobbed at the three person team, Weiss having assumed comand. "Yang, turkey" Weiss ordered. Yang quickly put two turkeys on her hands, although Ruby stole one. Using the one turkey gauntlet, Yang punched through several of the approaching watermelons. After the watermelon assualt was finished, Blake lept over her partner, and grabbed two pretty stale baguettes.
(a few minutes of the food fight later)
(Ruby's pov)
weiss was currently unconscious in my arms. To be fair, Nora, with her melon hammer, threw her into a piller. picking up a baguette, I assumed my stance, and gave up being neutral. I used a shadow launch myself at Nora, and used a new technique to dissapear, and then reappear behind nora. But I was too slow, and had a watermelon rammed into my gut. My aura kept me from breaking my ribs, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt. I heard a crash, and several soda cans exploding, and then my team was knocked out.
This was something I had been planning to attempt, and train up, for a while, but I guess this was going to be a trial by fire. I had a little feeling that phrase was going to be important, but I ignored it. I let shadows cover my body, and I burst foward at immense speed, picking up nearly everything behind me, After running around for a few seconds to pick stuff up, having my aura reserves practically running on empty, I stopped in front of JNPR, everything that I had picked up was being sent at them like a flood. I had won.
"these guys look cool" A random person said. Glynda burst into the door, clearly furious. She used her semblance to pick the cafeteria back up. "children, please do not play with your food" she said sternly. Nora burped, and Yang fell from the ceiling.
"let it go" Ozpin said. Glynda sighed. "They're supposed the be the defenders of the world" Glynda said. "and they will be. but right now they're still children. so why not let them play the part" Ozpin said, starting to walk away, "after all, this isn't a role they'll have forever".
