There was suddenly loud knocking on the door that caused Landon to jumped to his feet. Rivi was still curled up in bed naked, he gazed upon her smooth thighs, sliding his tongue across his bottom lip. He understood the difference between sex and making love now. Landon pulled the cover up over her, then he pulled a shirt over his head and closed his room door behind him. He finally opened the front door and Jenna marched right in. Landon was now panicking, he knew he said it was time everyone knew about Rivi, but not like this.
Jenna's hair was in a ponytail, and she was wearing workout clothes. She was smiling as she made her way to the refrigerator for something to drink.
" Um, did you call?" Landon said a bit agitated.
"Yes, but seeing as how you don't answer your phone or respond to text messages, why bother?" She decided on water to drink.
Landon checked his phone and she had indeed called and texted. He was most likely busy with Rivi, he smiled to himself thinking about it. He looked back at the room, hoping this would be one of those mornings Rivi slept in.
"Sorry about that, but I actually have to get ready for work soon. So maybe we can talk later?" He tried to dismiss her.
"Well, I'm sure we have a little time to... catch up right now, don't you agree?" Jenna made her way over to Landon resting her hands on his chest. He stepped back and took her hands off him.
Jenna was a bit upset by his reaction, she lifted a brow." Who are you seeing, Landon?" Jenna folded her arms.
"Jenna, can we discuss this later?" He pleaded.
"No Landon, I want to know what woman requires all of your time lately, because it's clearly not me." She shouted, then they heard a loud noise coming from his room.
Jenna's neck snapped around . "Is she here?" Jenna started walking towards Landon's room door.
"Jenna you need to go, I told you right now is not a good time." He tried to pull her arm but she had already opened his room door. Rivi was sitting up with the comforter covering only her chest down. Landon just put his head down.
"Hello Jenna." Rivi waved.
Jenna turned to face Landon with tears in her eyes. " You... you bastard."She now had tears coming down her face and she was red. "The damn violinist."
"I told you not right now." He closed the room door as they walked back to the kitchen.
Jenna was walking back and forth talking to herself. He was attempting to calm her down.
"You never loved me. You were never serious about me, all these years I have been wasting my time. I thought maybe you had come to your senses and would propose, but you aren't going to marry me." She laughed at herself, feeling like an idiot.
"I do care about you Jenna, I thought at one time you were the one, but..."
"But what Landon?" She cut him off .
"We are not soulmates and if I would have married you we'd never be happy, just content." He pierced her heart with his harsh reality.
"How long have you been seeing her? Are you just hooking up or is it something more." She paced around.
"We are dating, it's more than hooking up for me." He confessed.
"What makes her different?"she looked at him.
He shook his head. "Don't do that Jenna, don't ask me that. The answer will hurt." He warned her, and wanting to spare her feelings.
"No, I need to know before I walk out that door and tell myself we have no chance." She cried. "That it was all for nothing."
