02 ▪ "You're too wasted for this"

I don't know when or how we collectively decided to get wasted but I'm currently on my 3rd beer with a few shot rounds already having taken place.

A stupid grin plays on my lips as I watch Robbie struggling to build a house out of the cardboard coasters lying around the table.

"Oh come on!" Robbie yells, a little too loud, but I don't care that a few heads turned towards our table.

"You're too wasted for this" Jack chuckles lightly, my eyes jumping to his as he is intensely watching the pile of coasters on the table.

"No, I think you are wasted" Robbie shoots back, giggles leaving my lips.

"Nah. I can drink a lot more than this" Jack shakes his head before he rests his chin in his hand, his eyes dancing to me.
"But I think Ash is quite tipsy too".

"Pfft. I can take a lot more" waving him off, I take a sip of my beer.

Setting it down, I'm greeted by Jack quirking an eyebrow.
"I think you had enough. We don't want you throwing up, do we?"

"Are you doubting me? Challenge accepted, I get us another round" huffing, I shuffle out of the booth and stumble my way towards the bar, hearing the two chuckle at me as I roll my eyes in response.

I lean against the counter of the bar and wait for someone to notice me as my eyes dance around the room.

There's quite a lot of people here, but it's a Friday night after all. The music is good too, a mix of charts but also older songs that everybody knows and likes to sing along to.

"Hey, what can I get you?" A voice pulls me out of my thoughts as I smile at one of the bartenders.

"Hey, could I get six Jagermeister shots?" She nods her head smiling before disappearing behind her colleague and making the drinks, giving me time to pull out enough money to pay her.

It doesn't take her long before she gets back and hands me a small tray with the shots on it.
Seeing that I already have the right amount of money laying on the counter in front of me, she offers a small smile before leaving with a nod of her head.

"Thank you" I offer before turning on my heel and making my way back towards the boys.

Placing the tray on the table, I slip back into the booth, looking at the boys expectantly.

"Jagermeister? I'm sitting this one out then" Robbie scrunches his nose as he pushes the tray towards Jack, who in turn chuckles slightly.

"Guess that means a shot more for the both of us" I shrug, taking the first one in my hand, raising it as I wait for Jack to do the same.
"Cheers" I say before pouring the liquid down my throat, my face twisting in slight disgust as I set the empty glass down on the tray.

After we both took all of our three shots each, I have to admit, I do feel a little dizzy, but there is no way I'm going to let Jack know.

"You okay?" Robbie quirks an eyebrow at me, a small smirk playing on his lips.

"Yes, I feel great" I shoot back, glaring slightly.

"I'm gonna get some fresh air" Jack announces, slipping out of the booth as I stand up as well.

Robbie nodding his head as he is currently occupied trying to build another house out of the coasters.

"Me too" I catch Jack's attention as he waits for me.

As soon as I'm by his side, the two of us make our way towards the door.

Seeing that we have to push our way through a big crowd, I search his hand as he grabs it quickly and squeezes it. Somehow my body decides to react to that with that by a now hated weird feeling in my stomach, a smile playing on my lips. Normally I would scold myself for feeling like that, but I'm tipsy and don't mind the good feeling.

Arriving outside, the two of us make our way to a nearby wall that isn't occupied by anyone yet. I stumble over my feet slightly, giggles instantly leaving my lips as Jack chuckles but pulls me closer so I won't fall.

Leaning my back against the wall, Jack stands in front of me as I fall into his chest, still giggling.

Pulling away, my eyes settle on his face, realising how close we are.
I know I shouldn't do this, but my body just takes over and doesn't give me time to think as I lean up towards him, having me stand on the tip of my toes as I inch closer to him.

I can feel that he is feeling anxious as well, his breathing stopping as he holds a breath. Seeing that he doesn't back away, I seemingly see this as an invitation to keep going as my lips ghost over his for a moment before I decide to close the space and press my lips to his.

I got this giddy feeling again, my body now taking full control as I move my lips against his slightly, only to realise he doesn't kiss me back.
Normally I'd be embarrassed by now and red like a tomato and though I can't be sure about the last part, I'm not embarrassed as I pull away slightly. My lips linger close to his and as I'm about to pull away fully, Jack surprises me as my actions just now seem to process in his mind, his lips crashing into mine quickly.

His lips move hungrily against mine as I pull him closer to me by his shirt. Pushing me back with some force but being careful about it, Jack manages to push me against the wall, his hands gripping my waist tightly, as his fingers dig into my skin, a small whimper leaving my lips as I seem overwhelmed with the whole situation.

Pulling away from him, my eyes search his as he opens them slowly, staring right back down at me. His hands slide down from my waist as he pulls them away, mine letting go of his shirt too as we just stare at each other in silence.

"Ugh, we should probably go back. Robbie is probably already looking for us" I decide to break the silence as I look towards the ground, brushing some hair behind my ear.

"Yeah" a soft and quiet voice sounds from Jack as we both refuse to move still.

"We should probably head home soon too" I state, trying to get him to move first, too frozen to do it myself.

"I think so too." He mumbles, stuffing his hands into the front pockets of his jeans as he finally turns around and takes a step towards the door, making me follow him, both of us back to keeping quiet as we push through the crowded room and towards Robbie, my mind all over the place as I seem to sober up and realise what just happened.

What was that?

"You guys took a while" Robbie points out as he catches us, Jack and I standing in front of the table not planning on sitting down.

"Yeah, Ash and I were thinking about heading home, you okay with that too?" Jack ignores Robbies comment.

"Man, really? I just built this" Robbie whines slightly, waving his hand towards a house of coasters, the wind blowing it over again as I struggle to bite down my laughter.

"God damn it." He glares at the cardboard cards, "Alright we can leave" rolling his eyes, Robbie grabs his jacket and slips out of the booth  the three of us making our way out of the bar as I feel a pair of eyes on me.

Glancing towards Jack, I find him being the one, a shy smile playing on my lips before I look away again.
