08 ▪ "Bet on it!"

"I'll get the ice cream, you get the spoons?" I quirk an eyebrow at Rye as I kick off my shoes, laughter sounding from him as I wait for an answer.

"We just got home" he points out, taking off his shoes as well.

"That didn't answer my question" I wave my hand around, more chuckles heard from Rye.

"How about you get all the stuff from the kitchen and I'll get my bed ready for a movie night?" He suggests, raising an eyebrow at me as he purses his lips.

"I like the way you're thinking, my friend" I point a finger towards him, nodding my head as giggles leave my lips.

"See you in a bit then?" He takes a step towards the stairs.

"Well, duh" I roll my eyes playfully, heading towards the kitchen with his chuckles fading behind me as we both disappear out of the hallway.

Opening the door to the kitchen, my eyes settle on Jack, Brook and Sonny, all three of them laughing before their eyes switch to me and the laughter dies down, my mood dropping instantly as I feel how the air gets tense with every second that's passing.

"Hey" my voice is a lot more quiet then I anticipated it to be as they smile at me.

"Hey" Brook chuckles a little, easing the air instantly.

"How was your day?" I try to make conversation as I make my way closer to them.

"Chill. We didn't do much" Jack shrugs his shoulders.

"How about you?" Sonny asks, my eyes switching to his as he offers a smile.

God, I feel bad.

"Good. We were in London and explored some vegan shops" I nod my head, starting to play around with my fingers.

A small silence follows before Jack sighs loudly.

"God, you two are so awkward. Just talk to each other, I know the break up was harsh on both of you but you're both adults and you're friends after all".

"Jack!" Brook yelps, hitting the Irish boy's shoulder as I can feel my face heat up, a small blush appearing on Sonny's cheeks as well.

"What? It's the truth and I can't stand seeing both of them like this. Ash just went through this with Rye and she doesn't have to do it again, does she?" Jack shoots back, his eyes on the blonde whose hand slowly drops from Jack's shoulder and he purses his lips instead.

"I... guess he's right?" Sonny takes his time to let those words slip out of his lips as I find myself biting down my own.

"Yeah.. I guess".

"Of course I am" Jack scoffs, my eyes switching to him as he offers a look.
"Now I want you two to hug it out" he continues, making me roll my eyes but giggling as well.

"You're such a weirdo" I push his shoulder on my way towards Sonny who is chuckling as well, his arms quickly wrapping around my middle as I stand on the tip of my toes and snake my arms around his neck.

"Group hug!" Brook's voice fills my ears, my eyes opening as I giggle yet again, two more arms wrapping around me, Jack soon joining in as well.

"We don't do this enough" Brook mutters loud enough for all of us to hear, making us all chuckle once more.

"What's going on here then? A group hug without us?" Rye's voice sounds from somewhere near the door, not sure who else he is referring to as I ended up in the middle of the hug, no way to see outside the wall of humans.

"I don't remember agreeing to join in" Andy speaks up as I can only imagine Rye rolling his eyes before I hear footsteps coming closer.

"Oi, don't force me, I have short legs and need more time than you" Andy's played grumpy voice makes me laugh yet again before more arms wrap around the group and we just keep quiet and hold each other.
