Finding Yoongi? Easy.
Finding Yoongi without revealing himself? Impossible.
Jimin swallowed, keeping one hand wrapped tightly around the box in his pocket. It took him three days to gain enough courage to stand here, in the doorway to Yoongi's classroom, peering around nervously for the alpha.
"Hey, what's up?" another alpha asked, leaning against the doorframe.
"Uh, is Min Yoongi here?"
The classroom went silent. Jimin swallowed, biting his lip, as everyone turned to look at a sleeping figure in the back row. Jimin's mate.
Someone leaned over to talk to him.
"No no no!" Jimin said quickly. "I wanted to surprise him with something, I-- uh--"
Yoongi stirred. The classroom went silent again, and Jimin's shoulders sagged as Yoongi's head popped up. "Min?" the alpha mumbled. "What's wrong?"
Jimin ran.
He careened around a corner and managed to make it halfway down the next hallway before he heard Yoongi behind him.
"Jimin! Wait!"
Jimin stumbled to a halt, crouching and curling in on himself. Yoongi stopped beside him, grabbing him by the shoulders and pulling him back up and into his arms.
"I'm sorry I startled you," he said. "What's going on? Are you alright?"
Jimin groaned, stomping his foot. "I wanted to surprise you!" he grumbled.
"Surprise me?" Yoongi chuckled. "With what?"
They were pressed close, closer than usual. Jimin grumbled into his jacket, smacking his side. "You should've stayed asleep."
"Oh?"
Jimin nodded, grabbing the box. Then he frowned, biting his lip. It was too big.
"You're ruining everything!" he whined, smacking Yoongi again.
"Aww, come on," Yoongi whined back, squeezing him tighter. "I still don't know what it was!"
"You were supposed to see it without me there," Jimin sulked, working at the edge of the box in his pocket until he popped it off. The ring slid right onto his finger, and he carefully slipped his hands into Yoongi's jacket pockets, tugging on them to avoid suspicion.
"What have you got there?" Yoongi asked, slipping a hand in after his.
Jimin cursed, loudly. He'd forgotten Yoongi could read his mind.
"Whose ring is this?" Yoongi teased, slipping the ring off Jimin's finger.
"No, don't look! That's not fair!" Jimin followed Yoongi as the alpha backed off, partially because his hands were stuck and partially because of the ring in Yoongi's hand. "It's supposed to be a secret! You're wrecking everything!"
"Chill," Yoongi said. "I saw the whole thing earlier anyway."
Jimin froze-- a bad idea because he was already leaning over. He crashed into Yoongi, and they both fell backward, crumpling into an awkward heap on the floor. Yoongi was the first to start laughing, squirming out from under Jimin to grab the ring off the floor.
"Jerk," Jimin said.
Yoongi ignored his sulking, slipping the ring onto his finger. "I don't regret it," he said. "I've had time to think about it."
"You're still a jerk."
"I love you, Jimin."
Jimin froze, heat rushing to his face. "I-- I'm not--"
"Nope, I'm not taking your answer now," Yoongi said. When Jimin started to protest, he pointed at the ring, smiling. "This is enough for me."
Jimin gulped, finally pulling his hands out of his mate's pockets and getting off of him. "So-- So you're okay with it?"
"Who am I kidding?" Yoongi laughed. "I'll wait for you forever, 'min. Don't worry about it."
Jimin couldn't help it. He hugged him.
"I love you, 'min," Yoongi said again, wrapping his arms around him and lying down on the hallway floor.
"Thank you," Jimin mumbled, resting his head on Yoongi's chest.
And there they stayed until the school chime rang.
