The hot, summer sun flared down on Max as she stood outside, beat-up skateboard under her arm. She put her hand up trying to deflect the sun's burning glare, but it barely changed a thing. Heaving a sigh, she placed down her skateboard, which used to be her stepbrothers, and looked down at the board. The red head hasn't skateboarded in awhile, but she was confident she could ride the board, because she was great at everything, so Max could definitely do this.

The teen stood on the board, and pushed off using her foot, riding slowly along the asphalt road. She picked up her pace, gliding along the ground, the wheels spinning fast, making a weird wobble noise as they begun to move at a quicker speed.

She smiled, rolling down a small hill, the wind blowing back her red hair. Max didn't realize how much she missed the freedom she got from skateboarding. Forcing Billy or Steve- who were getting oddly close- to give her a ride was quicker, but the feeling of the wind blowing through her long locks, and the sun beating down on her, tanning her skin, was exhilarating. Max sped faster and faster, not sure where she was going, but having fun in the process. The four, small wheels continued to shake and wobble from the speed, but Max barely noticed.

Pushing her limits, she went faster, putting her body into it. She was going so fast she didn't even notice the blur of movement right in front of her, until she collided with it, head first. Max flew off her skateboard, tumbling down a grassy hill next to the road she was riding on, hitting her head, hard on a sharp rock.

"Fuck!" Max hissed, feeling up to the back of her head, sensing the sticky, warmness of fresh blood. She breathed in sharply as her fingers grazed the gash in her head. "Fuck!" She yelled again, head and hand soaked with bright red blood.

Her board was busted, split in two pieces. Billy will kill me... if I'm not already dead, Max thought.

She willed herself not to cry. Her head hurt like hell, and she could feel the blood trickling down the side of her face, but she couldn't bring herself to wipe it off. Max looked around, examining her surroundings. She was in a ditch, or a small woods area, and she found the road she was just riding down only a couple feet ahead of her.

But, for the life of her, she couldn't find the person who hit her.

"What an asshole," The red head mumbled.

She willed herself to move, to get up, but her ankle was swelling, bruised a fucking lot, and it hurt to even blink. The sunlight, which was thinned from the overhead branches, burned her skin, sizzling her wounded head. She felt like throwing up from the heat and dizziness.

Again, Max attempted to stand up, her left ankle shaking from the sudden weight put upon it. After a difficult couple minutes, she managed to stand on both her feet, her possibly broken ankle shaking severely.

"I'm fine, it's ok," Max huffed, tears welling, but she forced herself not to cry, she was tougher than that. In a split second her ankle gave out, causing Max to tumble back down, hitting her head on the hard ground.

She screamed, the gash killing her it seemed, and she turned around and hurled on the grass.

Max groaned, smelling like blood and throw up, which was a horrible combination. Deciding that standing was a shitty idea, the red head sat up, and leaned against a nearby tree, careful her wounded head didn't hit the bark.

"Neil is going to kill me if I'm not dead by the time someone finds," Max said to herself, staring at her injured ankle. "This fucking blows," she decided, holding in a sob.
