It started raining. I was going to look for food, but I’m going to wait until the weather clears up a tad. I’m starving. I haven’t eaten anything in two days. Just water. I’m not even sure if this water is okay to consume.
“If the rain could just…go away for a few days...” I wondered, and then the hunger pains got to me and I laid back down onto the cold, rude concrete floors. I got goosebumps and shivered.
After what felt like forever, the rain stopped. But I heard footsteps. Cautiously and nervously, I stood up and moved closer to the concealed parking garage doors. The hairs on my back stood straight up, and I bit my lip nervously and started to gnaw on the chapped skin around it—gross habit. I get uneasy and can’t help it.
“Hello?” I heard. It was a girl. I stayed quiet. I stayed glued to the wall, as still as a chair in an empty room.
