The Man in the Fields Ritual

I have never heard of this!!! All the other games I have heard of except for Japanese Doll by Capsule so this is the second game I have 0 knowledge of! I'm always happy to find new games. This was the first scarecrow game I've seen so if this isn't the right one I'm sorry!!!!

Requirements:

• A room with only one door that has a lock.

• a non electric source of light. A candle or a lantern would fit the aesthetic of creepy really well.

• A crucifix

• A watch!!! A phone will not work!!

• Bravery also helps with any and all of the games listed in this book but the fact that they said this game has some history with it (I'll talk about it at the end) The whole thing seems scarier.

Steps:

1. Begin after sunset but before midnight. No attempt before 9pm has succeeded and no attempt less than an hour before midnight has succeeded.

2. Clear the house and backyard of people. Make sure the crucifix is on your person

3. Light your source of light (I would use a lantern for aesthetic purposes)

4. Enter the backyard and turn to face the house. Repeat "But who will scare the crows away" seven times

5. After the seventh saying, listen CLOSELY.

If you don't hear anything: it did not work. Leave your house and return after 6 am

If you hear a voice: behind you or perhaps in your own head, the summoning has succeeded. You may proceed. The voice will say "that's not your biggest problem" heed its warning

6. Return to your house and close the door behind you. Do not look back

7. Go into the room with only one door. Close anything that is open ex: windows cabinets drawers bags boxes etc. if anything is open you MUST close it. This is your safe room

8. Leave the crucifix in the safe room but continue carrying your light source

9. Exit the safe room (ya can't just stay there)

10. Anything in your house that is open best be close lest ya get snatched. Close everything before 12

11. If you see a man with ashen skin in your peripheral vision do not look at him. At. All. There is no need to fear him though. Simply continue doing your business. He is not the man in the fields.

13. Don't look in the backyard please and thank you

14. If you looked in the backyard go immediately to the safe room, close and lock the door, and grab your crucifix. Pray you didn't leave anything open and do NOT open your door no matter what you hear or don't hear.

15. If you did look I cannot believe you looked are you serious? I literally said don't look and you looked w o w y'kno some rules aren't meant to be broken especially if that rule keeps you safe from something that can (possibly i really don't know) kill you

16. After closing everything in your house there is one more thing to do

17. Yeah that's right

18. Sleep. Sweet sweet sleep. Do not open your eyes. Keep 'em closed til you sleep.

19. If you wake up in the morning congrats!!!! You won!!!!

Winning condition:
Congratulations you are safe for one year! However the time you started will determine what your safe from:

• 3 hours before midnight (9): your safety is physical. You will suffer no illness nor injury for one year.

• 2 hours before midnight (10): your safety is physical and financial. You will suffer no injury or illness and you will never want money for one year.

• 1 hour before midnight (11): Your safety is complete and total. You will have no negative consequences for one year

It is unlikely you will complete the ritual in one hour

The ashen man is not The Man In The Fields he is more of a referee

Concerning the backyard: if you look you will see a scarecrow you haven't seen before. He will be missing his head. If you see him, he will see you and come after you.

You will have 60 seconds to reach the safe room. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OPEN THE DOOR BEFORE 6 AM IF YOU DO HE WILL TAKE YOUR HEAD. If you are forced to leave the safe room do not leave anything open or he will be able to get in.

And now: the history

I'm pretty sure the history is like that of The Midnight Game in the sense that I'm pretty sure the history is not real. Sorry but for me to believe the history of the game is real I need like verified proof. Sure the game might work but is the history accurate? Is the history true? Idk but here it is.

Apparently this ritual was passed down through the centuries. It's origin begins in the British Isles during the Middle Ages. It was viewed as devil worship by puritans and a way to protect your home by those who knew that what was really standing in their fields was not the devil.

I wish I could add on more but that's all I can find.

I really don't wanna play this game to find out if this works or not. I am very tempted though. I saw a few people say that they doubted the game until they heard the man in the fields whisper the words that proved him to be alive. Curiosity is really nagging me to try this game (like most others) but I do not want to die so if any of you try it tell me your experiences!!!
