Chapter Six: Adventure and Heart Break

Aubrey's POV:

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE GONE?!" I cried as I held onto the last bit of hope that I didn't hear what I just heard.

"Miss Aubrey. I am truly sorry, but we cannot find the island anywhere. It's gone, and so are your friends." A messenger said, bowing in apology. "I have to go tell the rest of your guild. Again, I am truly sorry for your loss." And with that they left, leaving me to fend for myself in the void I call, 'depression and guilt.'

"Th-they promised." I gripped the hem of my combat skirt. "They promised me." The tears fell when I got an idea.

I took a backpack, dumped out all the things from my previous mission and put in water, food, a set of matches, my notebook, my lacrima, a brush, a mirror, Natsu-nii's scarf that he left behind for me, the necklace Gray-nii got me, a sword bracelet from Erza-nee, the silver key: Nicholas, or Plue from LuLu, a few books from Levy-chan, a metal chain from Gajeel-nii, a lightning bolt hair clip from Laxus-nii, a pair of air symbol earrings from Wendy-nee, and a tube of lipgloss Mira-nee gave me.

~Flashback~

"HEY HAZEL!" I heard Gajeel-nii call from a table. "COME HERE! IF YOU REFUSE, I'LL DRAG YOUR BUTT OVER HERE MYSELF."
I sighed.

"COMING."

(No cussing in this book. Mormon Author-sama: PRESENT! I would because of Bakugo, but I'm me, refusing and just not willing to do it so you judge, I WILL be offended and heartbroken.)

I walked over to where Gajeel-nii was and saw Natsu-nii, Laxus-nii, Gray-nii, Mira-nee, LuLu, Levy-chan, Wendy-nee, and Erza-nee. They were all holding a box in their hands. Well, except Gray-nii, Natsu-nii, and Gajeel-nii of course.

"What's wrong?" I ask, they all blushed a different color, Erza-nee what the first to talk.

"W-well... we all felt bad for not letting you come, so we all got you something!"

"W-WHAAA?!" I jumped back. "Y-you didn't have to..." I haves my hands in front of me in exasperation.

"Yes. We did!" Mira-nee jumped in, handing me a pink wrapped box with a white ribbon. I hesitated but opened it with a shaky hand. It was a tube of.. lipgloss? "Sorry. It may seem weird! But you where eyeing the color and asked what kind it was, so I got you one!" She clapped her hands together and stepped back. Levy-chan came next.

"You were interested in the Percy Jackson books I was reading a while back soooo.." she handed me an orange box with a yellow ribbon and I opened it, revealing the whole Percy Jackson collection. "I got you the whole thing." She stepped back and Laxus-nii came up next.

"Here." He shoved a yellow box in my hands and walked back into his place with a small pink patch in his cheeks. I opened it and found an adorable yellow lightning bolt hair pin laying on cotton. "You always had to move your hair back, and you don't like putting your hair up, so I made you a pin." He looked away embarrassed. Wendy-nee walked up and hugged me close.

"I tried the best I could." She gave me a sky blue box covered in dark blue decorations. The box opened by my force and found two air symbol earrings sitting on a patch of cloth that looked like a cloud. "I hope she like it." She shifted uncomfortably.

Gajeel-nii walked after her and bent a piece of metal, making a flower out of it and putting it on a chain. Gray-nii came next, and made me an ice cream cone necklace out of his demon slayer ice, so it would never melt. LuLu was after Gray-nii and handed me a yellow box with different constellations decorating the wrapping. Inside was her Nicholas silver key.

"B-But. I couldn't possibly take Plue. He's yours."

"Please. Consider this a thank you for giving me hope in Jude's dungeon. Plus, he's excited to be with you."

Next was Erza-nee. She made her sword turn into a bracelet with two chains on it. A sun and a rose, to represent her and I. Lastly was Natsu-nii. He took off his scarf and wrapped it around my neck with the smile I loved with all of my little heart, the smile that warmed me up when I thought my world would never be prepared. The smile that he gave me when he would tell me he loved me. As my older brother of course!

"M-minna..." my tears began to fall as I put everything on the table. I sprint and pounce on them giving them a tearful hug. "I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!"

~Flashback Ends~

I look over my shoulder to the house I stayed in for the past 2 years, with tears running down my face. I started to sprint, as fast as my legs could carry me. Towards the thing that made all of this happen. The barrier.

'This is where my adventure begins!' I thought...

And stepped through it.
