"Wait you slept at TJ's last night?" Andi stopped walking

"Yeah" Cyrus said quickly, glad they haven't mentioned that he was wearing TJ's hoodie

"Wait" Buffy noticed something

"W-what?" Cyrus got suddenly scared

"Your shoes untied" Buffy knelt down to tie Cyrus' shoe

Cyrus had to say something before they noticed the hoodie

"Umm the reason I slept at TJ's" Cyrus had to take breath

"My mom went to the hospital, and late last night my step dad called me. Mom has cancer"

Buffy pulled Cyrus into a hug "Cy, I'm so sorry"

"Todd is taking me to the doctors today to get a cancer screening, because it runs in the family" Andi joined the hug

"Everything will be ok" Andi promised

Cyrus got to his last hour. Math

TJ walked into the Math room and sat next to Cyrus

"Hey underdog" TJ smiled at Cyrus then noticed his fidgeting hands under the table

TJ grabbed Cyrus' hands and just held them in his

"Todd is picking me up this hour to take me to the screening" Cyrus looked at TJ eyes filled with tears "Teej, I'm scared" A tear fell

TJ took his hands from Cyrus' just to wipe his tear and pull him into a hug

"I'll just be a text away, I promise" The bell rang for class to start

Cyrus' leg would not stop bouncing from anxiety

TJ put his hand on Cyrus' knee to calm him a little

"Can we have Cyrus Goodman for check out please"

Cyrus got his things together

"Hey, remember I'm just a text away" TJ gave Cyrus a soft smile

"I know" Cyrus was so scared, but he texted the group chat

"Hey, I'm leaving for the screening"

He knew he wouldn't get a text back so he put his phone away

*after the screening*

"Mr. Goodman, I'm Doctor Gray, I did your cancer screening"

"And?" Cyrus already had his phone out to text TJ the results

"I'm sorry, you have stage one lung cancer" Cyrus almost dropped his phone

A tear escaped his eye as he wrote the text

"I have stage one lung cancer" He hit send and put his phone away because TJ was still in class
