Chapter 3 : New Dishes

Jimin arrived early next morning to pick Seokjin up. Luckily, Jungkook wasn't there to send Jimin any death curses.

They reached Jimin's house after half an hour. Seokjin felt a bit uneasy, because Jimin lived on the opposite side of town. It was clear to him that they were people with very different family backgrounds. However, he brushed it off once Jimin smiled at him. When they entered Jimin's mansion, Seokjin was taken aback by how expensive everything looked. That's when he realized, he doesn't know what Jimin does for it. It didn't bother him that Jimin never told him what his job is because that didn't matter to him, until now.

"The kitchen's just right this way," Jimin says and leads Seokjin into a small hall. There were two doors, both belonging to the kitchen. One room had the sink, stove, and other cooking utensils. The other room had the fridge, and was more like a pantry. It was so spacious, sending shivers up Jin's back. Seeing how excited Jin was made Jimin feel extremely proud of himself.

A moment later, Jimin's workers came in with fresh ingredients from the store. "What's all of this for?" Seokjin asked, stepping aside, as the many baskets and bags were placed on the counters.
"We should cook with fresh ingredients, to get a nice taste," Jimin answers, still standing proudly.
"But what are we going to do with all of this?" Seokjin mentioned once everything was brought in. The counters were covered completely with the new ingredients brought in.
"If we have leftovers, I'll just deliver them to your place," Jimin says. He takes Jin's hands and walks him by the different items.
"What do you think we'll be able to make with these?"
"Aren't you showing me new recipes?" Jin reminds Jimin.
"Of course," Jimin chuckles nervously. "But I'd like you to give me a tutorial first. After all, you do own a restaurant."
Seokjin paused, and thought for a second. "Alright well we can make chicken and bok choy soup, stir fried broccoli with onions and pork, simple glass noodles, beef salad, fried rice, and grilled kabobs!" Jin clapped and smiled to himself. "Easy dishes for a beginner!"
"Who says I'm a beginner? I've cooked many times before, you've seen me," Jimin says and starts taking out the meats. Seokjin pulled out the vegetables, and announces the first dish that they'd be working on.

Once Jin was busy rinsing the vegetables, Jimin sighs and grabs the smallest knife. He placed it on his index finger and slowly sliced it. "Agh! Jin!" He shouted, and held out his finger.
"Tsk, Jimin!" Seokjin hurried over, grabbing a piece of paper towel on his way. He folded it, then wrapped it around Jimin's finger. "Hold it, I'm gonna go get you a bandaid."

Seokjin rushed out of the kitchen, and into the livening room. He spots one of Jimin's housekeeper, and asks for a bandaid. "Jimin was just clumsy," he said once she brought him the first aid kit. "Thank you."

When Jin returned to Jimin, he rinsed his finger throughly before applying a bandaid onto it. "Shouldn't you use like some sort of disinfecting alcohol?" Jimin asked, after Jin finished.
"Do you wanna die?" Seokjin asks as he cleans up. "You'll live anyways, it's just a little cut. Now get back to work."
Jimin pouts at Jin's response, but did as he was told. His finger still hurts like hell, but he acted like it was nothing.
"If Jin said it was little, then it's little," Jimin whispers to himself. He hissed when he squeezed the finger. "For 25 million."

After they finished making the various dishes, Jimin had his workers bring them to the dining table. They spent awhile to cook, and Jimin had a minor accident, so they finished around three in the afternoon.

Seokjin sat down besides Jimin, and that's when Jimin noticed this is what they do everyday. He cursed at himself silently, because he knew he could do better than this.

"Mmm! Jimin! This is not bad at all!" Jin exclaimed after tasting the soup. It had a refreshing taste, perfect for breakfast, and winter. Together, they had their first meal of the day.
